Setup Voice Mail - Asterisk 1.8

Set-up Voice Mail Account
Assumptions: This document assumes you have already accessed your voice mail account. Please read this article if you are unsure how
to Access the Voice Mail System.
Scope: Explination on how to set-up/change your Password, record your Name and record your Busy and Unavailable greetings.
If you are just setting up your account for the first time enter your initial password when prompted, your initial password will be your
extension number.
Changing Password
Option 0 - Mail Box Options
Option 5 - Change password
At the prompt enter your new password
Press # when done
At the prompt re-enter your new password
Press # when done
Recorded Name
Option 0 - Mail Box Options
Option 3 - Record Name
Follow directions and at the prompt say your first and last name only. (this is what will be played to users when they select
your name via the spell by name staff directory option)
After recording your name press #
Press 1 to accept your recorded name
Press 2 to listen to your recorded name
Press 3 to re-record your recorded name
Busy Greeting
Option 0 - Mail Box Options
Option 2 - Record busy message (This is what will play to callers if you are on the phone)
Follow directions and at the prompt and record your busy message
After recording your busy message press #
Press 1 to accept your busy message
Press 2 to listen to your busy message
Press 3 to re-record your busy message
Unavailable Greeting

Accessing Voice Mail - Asterisk 1.8 up Site Specific Configuration
Option 1 - Record unavailable message (This is what will play to callers if you do not answer the phone)
Follow directions and at the prompt and record your unavailable message
After recording your unavailable message press #
Press 1 to accept your unavailable message
Press 2 to listen to your unavailable message
Press 3 to re-record your unavailable message
