Two levels of Freedom

The Level of Free choices

The 1
st
level in terms of a choice, is the
freedom we have to choose and do particular
acts.
Sometimes, though, if interpreted can lead us
to the erroneous notion of freedom as doing
what I want.
Our moral obligations oblige us morally in
conscience but never coerce or compel us
physically.

The Fundamental Freedom
This freedom is fundamental because it is the
persons basic option underlying all his
particular moral choices.
This is the freedom I am or I become"
through the moral choices I make.
What I do forms who I am.

Freedom of choice and fundamental freedom
mutually influence each other.
This means that every act we do is important
because it shapes the kind of person we
become.
This also means that the person we become
through our choices is also important in
guiding our future choices
