Technology Current Event Article:
Is the iPhone 6 Plus bendable?
There are reports claiming that the iPhone 6 is bending when it isnt supposed to. Many
of the consumers said the phone bent after keeping it in their pockets for long periods of time.
There is no conclusive evidence and it has not been determined if there is a design flaw, some
phones with defects or if it is a hoax. Apple has not responded to complaints yet. Some CNN
testers were given samples and were unable to replicate the problem by bending the phone. This
new phone is thinner than previous models and made of aluminum. (Rooney, 2014)
Additional Internet Articles:
I used Google and Yahoo to search for articles on Mobile Technology. I liked Google
better because I was able to narrow down the search easier due to the advanced search option it
offers. It also gave me more relevant results then Yahoo.
TRAAP:
The article was written September 27
th
, 2014 it hasnt been updated as it is less than 24
hours old. It directly relates to mobile technology as it describes a new way mobile technology is
being used to connect truck drivers to freight, like Uber connects taxi drivers to passengers. The
author of this article is Paresh Dave, a reporter for the Los Angeles Times. No information is
included with the article about the author except that he graduated from the University of
Southern California. The article is based off of interviews with key figures in the trucking
industry and includes mostly direct quotes as supports. The purpose of this article was to inform
readers of a new business model that is gaining popularity. No obvious bias was noted. (Dave,
2014)

Scholarly Journal Articles:
I used the key words mobile technology to search for journal articles within the
EBSCO Host database. I chose this database because it catalogs Science and Technology
articles and has a full text feature. It allowed me to narrow my search further by date of
publication.
Internet Versus Journal Articles:
It was somewhat quicker to search for technology articles using several internet search
engines and there were many articles that were written within the last week. However,
information was often lacking regarding the authors of these articles and the sources they used.
Some of the internet articles located were more like advertisements and were opinion pieces
instead of objective news pieces. Using the CCBC database took slightly longer and the articles
were not as recent but the results that were found were relevant to my search. In addition, the
articles were published in peer reviewed journals, provided extensive information about the
authors, and described their research methods in detail.
