Dear Jeff Ubl,

I am a third year architecture student at North Dakota State

University. I am from Williston, ND and I hope to work on the
western plains. I am excited to try to bring architectural design
to the people of the plains. I have reviewed your firm and your
local projects. I also like your material use and poetics within
many of your projects. I am interested in an internship position
within your firm.

I am eager to bring many resources to your firm while building

my profession as an aspiring architect. While working toward a
Masters of Architecture at NDSU, I have gained experience with
Revit, AutoCad, Google Sketch-up, and I am currently learning
3dsMax. Beyond technology, I enjoy hand drafting and
rendering. I am enthusiastic about the human element
introduced in this style. I have been professionally trained to
use a variety of medium to achieve an interesting and dramatic
quality to drawings. One of which has become an award
winning drawing. I also have experience in many construction
processes and understand how things are put together on a
technical level. Two summers at McCody Concrete in Williston
have given me many of these processes. This is what started
my design interest. I strive to find design and beauty that starts
with the excavation crew. Simple, easy to build design that is
painless to maintain is surely beautiful to the client, and is
beautiful for the Architect. I also am very interested in the
possibilities of materials. I enjoy using materials in contradiction
with logic. Craft is always important to me as it reflects directly
on my work. I am excited to get a taste of client relationships as
well as firm teamwork. I am eager to work within your team and
I hope to gain some real-world experience.

I would like to discuss in person the open position whenever

possible. I can be reached anytime at my phone as well as
email. I look forward meeting with you.
