1 ASSIGNMENT 2 : WEB PAGE DESIGN AND MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION
Objective
To provide students with the experience of designing a web page for a specific purpose while utilising multimedia capabilities.
Outcome
At the end of this task, each student would be able to create multi-media presentation (Course Outcome 2) using Web Page Design and Multi-media Presentation Tools. In the long run, the task is to assist each student to achieve the following outcomes
LL 1 : Ability to find and manage relevant information from various resources. LL 2 : Ability to accept new ideas and ability to learn autonomously. LL 3 : Ability to expand inquisitiveness and the desire for more knowledge. PO 1 : Ability to acquire knowledge on quantity surveying fundamental and in depth technical knowledge in one or more specializations. PO 2 : Ability to express ideas effectively in written and oral form and use the technique, skill and appropriate quantity surveying tools necessary for quantity surveying practice
All the outcomes, at the end of this program, are intended to produce graduates who are able to exhibit systematic approach in problem solving skills and IT competency necessary for quantity surveying practice (PEO 5)
Background
The Public Works Department (PWD) in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has set up a competition which is opened to all students in the institutions of higher learning to design a website for electronic procurement for government projects in the future. This website is called E-Tender2U, aimed to facilitate the PWD to manage the delivery of tender documents more efficiently and effectively through this website.
E-Tender2U is designed to:- 1. Reduce the administration cost of printing and delivery of tender documents 2. Enable government to upload, track and monitor the tender documents for online download and online payment 3. Allow greater flexibility and speed forthe interested tenderers to obtain the tender documents 4. Facilitate the interested tenderersto purchase tender documents through website with the payment services provided 5. Facilitate the Online Tender Bid Submission
The best prototype website will be chosen by the ICT committee of the PWD and MoHE. The winning team will be awarded a trophy.
The Information Technologys lecturers of the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has requested all students in Semester 03 to take up this challenge, compete among themselves and with other IPTA and IPTS and produce a state of the art website deserving of the best website award.

2 Instructions
1. Divide the class into groups of 4.
2. Develop the concepts, design the layout of the site and be selective in choosing what appropriate information should be included in the website.
3. The special feature appeared in the website must be different from one group to the other.
4. Use an appropriate software package (or a combination of packages) to develop the E-Tender2U web site.
5. The system should also guide potential users on how to navigate from one point to the next. It should also exhibit ease of use and user friendliness at the same time very creative. Be BOLD in presenting your ideas across.
6. The use of a suitable menu system is recommended. Information on how to use the system can be incorporated within the system.
7. The E-Tender2U should demonstrate web features and multi-media capabilities.
8. The overall system design must have a professional outlook suitable for a governments e-tendering web site.
9. The features incorporated should include: At least a two framed layout Relevant content and graphics (diagrams, pictures, images, charts, animation, VR, etc.) Hypertext links between files/worksheets/pages/contents/columns/frames/other sites, etc. Other relevant and suitable features
