Introduction:

Educators must introduce State Common Core Standards in grades K-12, while
integrating technology into our curriculum (Beatty, M., 2013). Most teachers are not
comfortable or confident with their skills in technology, while bringing illiteracies into a
classroom (Beatty, M., 2013). This is why I created a Website Blog at
http:/mathandreadingbasics.weebly.com. It helps teachers translate our lessons in a language our
technology scholars can comprehend, which is an important part of a comprehensive classroom
technology plan. Bogs are capable of enhancing interacting learning communities between
parents or caregivers, students, and the Global community (Beatty, M., 2013).
Technology to Enhance Communication
(Engrade):
Engrade is a form of technology software system that can accelerate student achievement
by enabling parents or caregivers, students, and any other concerned members of the Global
Community to stay connected and in accord with our scholars academic success. As a Special
Education Assistant at a high school, I noticed this system has helped the parents or caregivers of
the students I work with to keep track of their child(ren)s academic achievement. Parents are
informed of the students class work and homework assignments, grades, attendance, and
behavior. Student can easily access this system at home, school, and their mobile devices to
view any missing or late assignments, as well as the records recorded pertaining to their grades
and attendance. The Global community includes teachers, school districts, governments, and any
other stakeholders. These concerned parties are able to assure the State Common Core Standards
are being implemented with the students lessons and grades. Engrade.com is a beneficial form
of technology that will be used in my classroom.

(Email):
In my experience, certain parents, students, and members of the Global Community are
more comfortable with communicating via email. Emails are a different form of communicating
with all said parties to assure our scholars are informed or aware of their academic success. I
will use this form of communication as an attempt to include all parties into our scholars status
in my class. Parents can be immediately informed of any sudden changes with their child(ren).
such as lower grades, missing assignments, and misbehavior, as well as the reasoning behind
them. Students will be informed of the same information via email as an additional attempt to
reiterate this, or any other information that needs to be communicated to them. Teachers and
other staff and faculty members (Principals, Assistant Principals, etc.,) prefer to be emailed
certain information pertaining to students to have proof of their attempts to assist, if necessary.
(Text Messaging):
Text Messaging is an immediate way to forward parents, students, and other stakeholders
within the Global Community any information necessary to improve or maintain a students
academic success. It is quick and easy through mobile devices or cellular phones. Some
members of the said parties are not always able to access a computer to inquire about this
pertinent information. Text messaging allows parents to be notified immediately if there are any
changes of their child(ren)s status in their teachers class. For example, if a child is having
behavioral issues in class, I will use this tool to communicate such information to their parents.
Their parents can also use this method to immediately communicate with educators before,
during, or after class. Students will be able to communicate with their instructors much faster
about any questions, comments, or concerns regarding their academic success. Some students
prefer to use this form of communication with their teachers for immediate responses. The

Global Community can use this method to stay in accord with other stakeholders pertaining to
their students. For example, one of the students in my class had a bad morning, so their first
period teacher contacted all of this teachers to let them know to be exceptionally patient with that
student on that particular day because they were going through some personal changes. We were
immediately notified of this important information, which prevented us from having any
confrontation with this student for the day. This was a good way for us to tag team and have a
good day without any issues from this student.
(Cellular Devices):
Cellular devices serve many purposes towards a child(ren)s learning experience. Parents
or caregivers can be called on their mobile phones to be notified of any important information
they need to know. This tool allows working parents to be contacted faster as oppose to leaving
them messages at their jobs. They are also capable of receiving voice messages immediately as
oppose to leaving it on their home telephones. Some parents are not always at home to receive
pertinent information. For example, if their child(ren) need to be picked up for emergency
purposes, it would not be beneficial to inform them on their home phone in the event they are not
at home. Students have been allowed to use their mobile devices in their science classes to
record or research certain scholarly information. For example, the calculator on these devices
can assist them in calculating certain scientific equations. Teachers are able to use their mobile
phones to do the same. Most schools have the upgraded technology systems that allow all said
parties to receive telephone blasts from their educational institutions. For example, the high
school in which I work had plumbing issues that were unable to be resolved during school hours,
so the Principal distributed a phone blast to inform parents and other members of the Global
Community of an unexpected early dismissal from school that day. The parents received the

messages via their cellular devices (and homes), and came to the high school to immediately
retrieve their child(ren).
Communication Internet Security and Safety:
Educators should provide guided assistance and heavy supervision while practicing these
provisions at school, and ask the parents to do the same at home. incorporate Internet security
and safety into their lessons in efforts to by introduce moral criteria that controls computer usage,
networks, and information systems (Shelly, G., Gunter, G., & Gunter, R., 2012). Teachers should
assure students, parents, and staff has a clear and mutual understanding of its importance while
navigating through any social network. People depend on computers to create, store, and
manage
their personal information, so it is important that they adhere to certain ethics performing these
actions (Shelly, G., Gunter, G., & Gunter, R., 2012). Teachers, parents, and staff are responsible
for teaching students appropriate cyber ethics while using computers to protect them from cyber
criminals and being accused on cyber crimes (Starr, L., 2011). Students should be tested on
their knowledge and attain an adequate score before being authorized to use any digital
equipment at school. To ensure that each party is doing their part, an Acceptable Use Policy
(AUP) should be signed by staff, teachers, students, and parents (et al., 2012).
It is important for parents or caregivers, students, and the Global Community to stay
connected to be aware of any sudden changes in our scholars academics. These changes can be
detected and resolved as soon as possible, if all said parties have an open form of
communication. We are not always able to meet face-to-face, which is where technology
becomes beneficial to all said parties. Everyone is not familiar or accustomed to using
technology. Sometimes we use technology throughout the day and are not aware because it is

included into our daily routines. Usage of our mobile devices is a good example of how people
are unconsciously using technology in our daily lives. They can be used as alarm clock,
calculators, recording academic information, text messaging, emailing, and much more.
Technology is being used daily, and Blogs is an additional form of keeping track of our scholars
academic, while staying in close communication with parents and caregivers, students, and the
Global Community.
