Preamble Essay
I imagine an America that can actually change. That we become a nation that prospers again
but without pillaging the resources of nations that make their people hate us. That we become a
nation that, as the Constitution says in the Preamble, its the very first paragraph, promote the
general welfare of its people. - Richard Sniff. This quote, it was meant to show everyone that
America can change, only if our government does too. One mistake they can not violate is taking
away our unalienable rights. These rights were given to us from the document, the Constitution.
The big problem is, our government isnt perfect, they will make mistakes as much as we do in
our daily lives.

The Preambles Purpose

The Preamble is one of the key reasons we have our free will and government today. One
question that someone may ask is, what was the point of the Preamble? The point is to introduce
the reasons the creators of the Constitution made our government a republic. One huge reason,
according to www.kids.laws.com people dont recognize is, the Preamble allowed the
Constitution to overrule the Articles Of Confederation. The Articles Of Confederation were bad
for the U.S. because it wouldnt let the government enforce taxes and caused a large amount of
inflation, so the states would become independent. This was the reason Shays rebellion
happened. Shays Rebellion occurred when the majority of farmers became furious with the taxes
and rebelled against the government. When the Preamble introduced the Constitution, it changed
everything. The Constitution would be able to guard against tyranny, enforce taxes, and the
inflation problem would decrease and mostly everything would go back to normal. As for the
Articles Of Confederation, they were gone for good.

What Does The Preamble Mean?

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice,
insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and
secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this
Constitution for the United States of America. The Preamble, but what does this document

mean? To translate, we the people of the United States, this means all of the Americans.
Another one is, in order to form a more perfect union, this means the government wasnt
perfect

but we had a goal to become perfect. The third one is, establish justice, which means all the
people ruled by laws will be kept safe. To ,insure domestic tranquility, means that they owe a
duty to maintenance of law. If you havent noticed, these are all laws that keep us safe and all one
or you could say a union.
The Preamble is considered an introduction to the constitution, but you could also consider it
a back-up for the Constitution. Since it states some laws even before the constitution and then the
constitution adds a couple more. The Preamble is sometimes underrated, but the constitution is
the main key in this case, everyone is always referring to the constitution, but what about the
Preamble, or the Gettysburg Address? Maybe some people need to decipher the meaning of the
two documents, we have the meaning of one, figure the other one out on your own!

How Does The Preamble Impact Us To This Day?

The Preamble is what let us create and publish the constitution. It allows us to provide for the
government and the society. According to http://constitution.findlaw.com/preamble.html the
government and society use each other by ,providing for the common defense, which means
that we can use taxes to provide weapons and vehicular types of objects. Our government has
provided tons of weapons for the army, one example is, tanks, large vehicular warfare objects.
Which our military uses very much. One for the society is, secure the blessings of liberty to
ourselves and our posterity, which in other words means, to secure our future childrens freedom

or liberty. An example of this was when they were fighting against the british, they wanted their
future children (posterity) to be secured with liberty and freedom.
One for the government is, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of
America, which means the government is appointed to creating something. Our government

makes laws, or recently they have these things called propositions, they have America vote on
which proposition they will pass. An example of this is prop 28, which the Americans voted yes
for, was the law to change the term limits. After reading this, look at yourself, does the
government allow you these rights? Are the governments rights also secured? If not, think about
how these rights arent secured, and how you can change that. The key point of these documents
was to join all of us together and give us the rights that cant be broken. You cant let the
government take over, but we cant be too powerful either, at some point one of us will become
too powerful and become a tyranny or a tyrant. The Preamble has gave us closure that we wont
have that happen to our country.

The Preamble
As you can see, our government will make mistakes throughout our lifetime. There is nothing
we can do about it either. It is our goal to become a perfect union, we may never achieve it, but
we will try. Our government and society have slowly but have been coming together over the
years. After the terrorist attack of the twin towers in 9/11, we came together as a country a little

bit. Compare it to water, just a little bit can fuel you for your day, or your food, it gives you
energy and fills you up, but you have this everyday. This analogy explains how a little bit of
something can make a huge difference on your life. A challenge for you is, make a change in our
daily lives, it doesnt matter what it is, just make a difference.
