Program Title: Pleasant Grove Nature Trail-just another walk in the park!
Location: Arboretum
Program Theme: The beauty of Mother Nature-how it plays a vital role in our
lives with habitat and resources. Man and wilderness are inter-connected so you should
care.
This guided tour should be swift and educating. There are many attractions the
group should stop to enjoy.
Program Goal: to let the audience appreciate nature and take home a message
of conservation. After I do the talking and guided tour, hopefully they should come to
respect their natural wonders they come in contact with. Because ecosystems are
threatened, measures should be taken to educate our children on conservation
methods.
Objectives:
1) Recognize plants and animals along the way
2) Educate the young on preservation of woodlands
3) Come to admire wildlife and become an advocate for it.
Intro-My name is ranger Richard K and I will be your tour guide at the Pleasant
Grove Trail. The hike is about 20 minutes and you are sure to be amazed at it. Do not
touch any of the organisms, as they are protected in this habitat. I will guide you thru
many biomes and you will get up close and personal to rare and unique organisms not
seen anywhere else. This jungle has been protected ever since 1985 when EPA members
lobbied the Malay government.
The Natural Preservation Society would like to thank me for allowing you as a
group to participate in this hike. At the end, feel free to ask me anything related to this
hike. It is a 20 minute walk and here are our stops:

1st Stop-The Pleasant Grove Bridge-overlooking the rapid river, please

observe the hornbills and the gliding lizards. They are endemic to this
location.
2nd stop-The Winding Trail-venture into the heart of a SE Asian jungle and
see it for yourself! This is truly a once in a lifetime chance.
3rd stop-The Pleasant Grove Path-observe all of the large mammals from
the path. These are endangered so be nice to them.
Conclusion: I hope all of you walk away from here with a greater respect for mother nature and
support ecology measures.
The evaluations include how much I get my point across and how articulate I speak. Generally
speaking, I should talk in sentences with facts and figures but also be as precise with the subject
matter as much as I can be. That means no trailing off, annoying words, or awkward voice. The
audience should learn just as much as I already know.
I will take the class to the arboretum and pretend its Pleasant Grove Nature Trail.
The duration will be a 20 minute hike and 5 minute of Q & A.
The trail begins at the entrance to the nature reserve. We then approach the Pleasant Grove
Bridge and take the Winding Trail to the right of the bridge. Somewhere, it goes into the trees
and then the path opens itself to us. The pond, plants, and insects all make it come to life.
This jungle is also controlled by smuggling warlords 75 miles out-but here we are safe.
