Literacy:
Reading

Students will read to find information, make connections and ask questions. They will sequence text and explore cause and effect relationships through a variety of fiction and
nonfiction books. They will inquire into the form and function of procedural text.

Literacy:
Writing

Through the Writing process, students will focus on procedural writing. They will use graphic organizers such as flowcharts and cause and effect tables to plan and record findings.
They will be using time connective words and action verbs related to a variety procedures. Students will research and summarize text.

Equal Group: Model, solve and describe multiplication as equal groups The link between addition and multiplication will be introduced by writing repeated addition sentences.
Equal Share: Model, solve and describe division through equal sharing a given size of objects with and without remainders.
Fractions: Identify parts of a whole and identify, describe and model one half and one fourth of a group in real life situations e.g. of 12 slices of cake is 3.
Measurement: Explore mass and capacity of objects using non-standard and standard units (grams/kilograms) (milliliters and liters)
Students will search for information about the process and production of food using various search engines.
Students will use information sourced from websites to create a video presentation using PowerPoint about the process and production of food.

Arabic

Arabic A letters processing with short vowels/long vowels and (nunation ) story line through the story has to know the processing for the story
Arabic B: continue in letters (tha- ra-za-wa) and (ja-ha-kha) using this group of letter to build up words and sentences. Food and drinks that I like.

Music

In Music and Strings, we are continuing our unit called Hear, See, Do. Students are learning that the sound that musicians create is a connection between what they hear, see,
and do. Students will inquire about notation, how we approach our instruments (voice, violin, cello, percussion, etc.), and what to listen for in music.

P.E.

Students will perform jumping, throwing and running events in the athletics unit and will explore how they can improve their own performance. They will discuss
healthy/unhealthy food choices and how diet may affect performance (responsibility). Students will investigate how the various jumping, throwing and running events are different
(change) and will identify safety aspects for each event (responsibility).

Library

Students will be learning why we need to acknowledge where information was located, how to record sources of information using title and author, how to locate and record
information from reading and why we may need to use more than one resource.

The Arts

Students will deepen understanding of the process and choices one makes as an artist, to achieve a completed work of art. Students will identify the stages of
The Design Cycle in their own and others creative works while producing Matisse-inspired Rumble in the Jungle artwork.
