Work in the Class

Reading: In guided reading we are working on understanding text
by using inferencing. The core focus is to use evidence from the
text to make an inference about characters or events in the story to
answer questions. Ask your student to make an inference.
Writing: We are working on personal narratives using a
strong introduction, middle, ending, and a reflection. The
students have learned to write summaries in all content areas.
We have some great writers in our room,
Skill Block: We do daily language skills which includes editing
sentences, use of capital letters and punctuation. We also work on
cursive. We are on Capital letters.
Math: We are on unit 5 which deals with long division and double
digit multiplication. Ask your student to do a problem for you and
see if they need any help.
.
Social Studies: We are studying the mid- west region and
learning about the areas economics, geography, and the
people who lives in these states. Next week the students will be
assigned a state and make up a power point to present to the
class.
