Description
BetterBusBuffers version 0.3.2 beta
BetterBusBuffers counts the number of transit trips that are accessible within a specific walk distance during a specific time window.
Polygon Tool: You select the buffer size around the stops and the day/time window, and the tool maps the buffers and counts the total number of trips and
the trips per hour that people inside those buffers have access to.
Point Tool: You specify a set of points in your city and select a maximum travel time or distance and a day/time window, and the tool counts and maps
the number of transit trips available to those points.
BetterBusBuffers is a custom ArcToolbox script tool that uses GTFS public transit data and ArcGIS Network Analyst.
Transit agencies could use this tool for a more sophisticated measure of transit access in creating their Title VI reports.

license.
Network Analyst extension (If you don't have Network Analyst, you can still run a limited version of the Polygon Tool that creates simple circular
buffers.).
