Truman had to make many decisions during his presidency even if they were
good or bad he had to do them. One of the things he had to do was
dropping the atomic bomb killing many people but save many in the process.
During the cold war he also had to make many policies ensuring the
safety of other people which couldn't have been easy to do.

Harry Truman might not have had an easy time as president with everything
happening like the war and stuff happening in the U.S. For one thing he was
not that favored in the south since he wanted an anti labor law but what he
also did was catch people and organizations who weren't helping with the
war effort as they were supposed to do.

During the cold many things have happened like the Truman Doctrine
which was passed for trying to contain the spread of communism and keep the
soviets away from taking over any countries. After the cold war though came
the Marshal plan which helped give financial aid to European cities in need
of repair.

After WW2 the soviets have taken over North Korea and was trying to
take South Korea in the process. What happened was the U.S intervened with
the Soviets plan and held them back with the help of South Korean troops so
the spread of communism wouldn't get in South Korea and because of that
South Korea didn't get persuaded by communism.

"Letter to Bess." Harry S Truman libray and museum. http://www.trumanlibrary.org/
whistlestop/study_collections/ww1/documents/fulltext.php?documentid=1-12.
This letter from Harry Truman is talking about how the war is going
to someone named Bess Wallace. There is a quote in there that says "Now
days battles are just sort of a "You shoot up my town and I'll shoot up
yours." The reason I used this source is because it is talking about a view
on the war effort and how they are starting, meaning that if someone
attacks you then you are going to start a war on them
"Marshal Plan." OurDocuments. http://www.ourdocuments.gov/doc.php?doc=82#.
What this plan did is help other countries which where in ruin after the
soviets have destroyed them during the cold war. Because of that though
what Truman did was create an act called the Marshall plan which gave
all those counties in Europe the financial aid they needed so they could
rebuild their cities.
"Nato pact signed." History. http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/
nato-pact-signed.
NATO also known as the North Atlantic Treaty organization slowed down the
communists by adding many countries as allies meaning if you attacked
one of those countries many more will be coming after you. Since this
happened the soviets did something similar by making the Warsaw Pack having
Russia and other countries in an alliance which was basically the same
thing as NATO did.
"Social Security Act." OurDocuments.gov. http://www.ourdocuments.gov/
doc.php?flash=true&doc=99.
The social security act was an act similar to the healthcare act but
different. What the security act did was give poor people as well as elders
the insurance they needed so they wouldn't have to pay as much when they
had to go to the hospital so they wouldn't be downed with medical expenses.
It is currently now known as medicare.
