Manager of the students' cafeteria (2008 2010)


Sep up cafeteria after it had not been used for years, painted and repaired facilities. Developed a shift and supply system,
liaised with suppliers, organised purchase, preparation, pricing and sale of food and maintenance of cafeteria. Brought
cafeteria into excellent condition and received enthusiastic feedback and high demand from fellow students who visited
the cafeteria between classes.
Start-up of student support and learning group (2011 2012)
Set up a project for helped younger students with school-related difficulties together with fellow senior students. Gave
talks in classes and advertised the project among students and parents. More than 15 children came regularly for two
hours to be tutored on a 1-2-1 basis. Received very good feedback from students and parents.

Work Experience

Event Manager at Explorathon in Glasgow
Coordinator and Chairwoman for research talks at the European Researchers' Night. Moderated between talks, helped
with technical problems and answered questions from visitors and speakers on the programme. Achieved a smooth
running throughout the night despite some last-minute program changes and different needs of speakers. 2149 visitors
and 194 researchers were present.
June Sept 2014
Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology
Assisted researchers in the Psychology and Primatology Departments. Ran child and infant studies as an experimenter.
Made appointments with parents and nurseries, acquired new participants, drove research team and technical equipment
to nurseries, and negotiated about facilities. Helped researchers to prepare video material and script. Acted in resulting
video. Processed and evaluated data from human and primate studies. Excellent feedback from of both departments with
prospects for promotion in future employment at the institute.

Artist and Customer Care at Bach Music Festival and Competition in Leipzig
Assisted artists with all aspects around their stay and performance. Coordinated rehearsal time slots, advised customers
on concert dates, locations and tickets. Helped run special programme for children. Was one of the first contact points for
ca. 65 000 visitors from 31 countries.

Taylor and Artist Assistant in Costume and Stage Department of Opera Leipzig
Assisted with stage dcor, female dress and hat design. Sewed giraffe and leopard costume for Wagner opera during
Bayreuth Festival, and created hats for musical Frau Luna. Assistant job was prolonged twice because of successful
collaboration and prospect of promotion in future employment was expressed.

Artist and Customer Care at A Cappella Music Festival in Leipzig
Coordinated the smooth running of concerts, picked up artists from the airport, brought artists to their show and helped
them with all aspects of their stay. Advertised festival through social media and posters. Conducted survey among visitors
and analysed evaluation statistics. Excellent feedback from both bands and event promoters.

Customer Advice and Event Management Assistant at Bookfair Leipzig
Advised customers on newly published books, helped to find appropriate books for certain ages in children's bookshop,
and helped run readings. Managed to work under pressure for long hours and deal with overcrowding of facilities that
welcomed more than 160.000 visitors. Colleagues appreciated my coordination skills for locating books and maintaining an
organisation system in shelves that were constantly used by visitors.
