CPRI Cable Boxes

In First Phase of project
For few sites material
CPRI cable will be in the RRU box
Each CPRI cable box contains 30m

Remaining sites material

CPRI cable boxes are independent from RRU box
Each box will have cables of different lengths

CPRI boxes are of same size (H122mm X L384mm X W365mm)

for all sites.
Depending on total CPRI cable length required, 1 to 3 boxes
may be required per site. Pack ALL CPRI boxes for one site
together in a single wrapping stretch film.

For the older formats, SolPar
has to paste new label formats

Cables points to remember

Cables for each sector should be tied together
with no crossing over into the other sector
Run cables without crossing and periodic ties all
the way from RRU to ODC as shown in the
previous slide
Use colored insulation tapes inside the cable
tray to differentiate cables in each sector. (Blue
for Alpha, Red for Beta and Green for Gamma)

CPRI earth pressure terminal

Lots of CPRI cable[3,143 sites] were supplied to the old model. In case of this,
earth pressure terminal should replaced with new models pressure terminal.

Old typetype-1

Old typetype-2

Cut old cable lug & replace

with new pressure terminal

2-hole ground pressure terminal

Single hole pressure terminal is official for the earth cable connection.

In case of 2-hole pressure terminal material in the IM kit box, connect as

below picture.

RRU grounding connection

If there is no TGB on the antenna pole, RRU ground cable should be connected
on OGB directly.

Cables
Bends in cables should be smooth, NOT sharp. Follow
minimum bending radius restrictions
 No crossing over of cables
Do not leave any power-cables exposed
Cover cable tray with packing after installation

Connectors
Ensure all steps have been followed in GPS
connectorization

If connector with clamping ring was used, make sure that the
clamp ring was installed with hexagonal crimping tool

Tighten all connectors with the appropriate torque values

Do not leave gaps (especially check RET unit-to-antenna
connection & RRU connections)
All screws should be fastened tight
Keep the waterwater-proof caps and rubber packing to secure
the unused ports

Antenna
While pulling antenna up to the tower, tie the rope at the
antenna clamps
Tie the top and bottom ends so antenna does not swing
Keep rope at enough distance from tower
Two people - one at bottom and one at the top - to
ensure that antenna does not touch anything on its way
up

Antenna Pulling Technique

RRU
While pulling RRU up to the tower, tie the rope at the
center so that the RRU does not swing
Keep rope at enough distance from tower
Two people - one at bottom and one at the top - to
ensure that RRU does not touch anything on its way up

Post-Installation Check
Remove any debris produced during the work and clean
up the installation site.
Make sure to clean the rack before leaving the site.
Remove boxes, pieces of cable from the site and discard them suitably
Do NOT leave any waste at the site

Any remaining material after installation (e.g. cable, tools)

should be returned to the concerned Samsung contact person

Double-check each and every aspect of the installation.
