Screws, nuts, bolts
1 - Green Deckmate Screws 1lb box of 3" screws - $5.97 (home depot)
1 - Green Deckmate Screws 1lb box of 2.5" - $5.97 (home depot)
1 - Green Deckmate Screws 1lb box of 1 5/8" - $5.97 (home depot)
These screws are more expensive, but do NOT cut a corner here. These are easy to drive and are virtually unstrippable.
4 - HeadLok 4-1/2 in. Heavy Duty Flathead screws (these are about $1 ea.) (home depot)
8 - 3/8" x 4 inch length galvanized carriage bolts (don't forget galvanized washers and
nuts) (approx $10)
Windows / doors / floor
1 - 6x8 Vinyl unbound remnant (linoleum floor for inside coop) - 24.97 (home depot)
2 - T Hinge 6 (item number 003506121358)- ($2.97 each at Walmart - $5.94 total)
These will be used for large door.
1 - Safety hasp - (item 003506192845) (2.97 each at Walmart)
Used on large door. If you live in an area with foxes, raccoons you could also add
one to nesting box.
1 - Transom Window 10 x 23 Shed Window White Flush - ($16 ebay)

1 - Broad hinge 2.5 - Item 5296538 - (6.99 each at ACE)
(This is what I used as nesting box hinges)
Lumber:
4 - Eight foot 4"x4" PRESSURE TREATED boards(the greenish wood) - ($8.17 each at
home depot - $32.68 total)
2 - eight foot 2" x 3" - ($2.10 each at home depot - $4.20 total )
These will be used to frame nesting boxes
2 - eight foot 2" x 6" (PRESSURE TREATED) ($5.67 each at home depot - $11.34 total)
14 - eight foot 2" x 4" (PRESSURE TREATED) ($3.87 each at home depot - $54.18 total)
8 - eight foot 2" x 4" (2.96 each at home depot - $23.68 total)
I did my best estimating here. You may be able to cut down on the total lumber used if you use
your pieces wisely while you build. Anything that does not get used can be returned.
Plywood
2 - t1-11 4x8 plywood ( $35.72 each at home depot - 71.44 total)
1 - 4'x8' sheet of inch plywood ($21.05 at home depot)
I used this for the chicken coop floor
1 - 4'x8' sheet of 3/8 inch plywood ($16.33 at home depot)
I used this for the chicken coop roof. You will use 4x4 of this to do roof and nd the
rest of it to create nesting box dividers, piece by chicken exit door, and strips under
metal roof.
When I built my coop, I actually needed THREE pieces of t1-11. I tried to make an adjustment to size of
nesting boxes that will allow you to get by with TWO t1-11. Please let me know how it works out.
