hours over a six-week period resulted in halving of sentences though

pornography to the level of hostility felt towards women and, further,
finds the level of hostility is a significant predictor of sexual violence.
(Goldsmith Sexual Offenders 2.) When viewing these disturbing
images the viewer makes them out to be seen as normal, so when they
do commit the crime they do not believe they have done anything
wrong. The viewer believes that they are in control of another human
being, and that it is justifiable to act on this impulse. The images and
videos being portrayed are altering the way we view women, and the
way we think it is okay to treat women. Pornography as a form of
media has invited a great deal of interest and controversy, especially
regarding behavior related to sex offending and rape. (Ferguson
Aggression 325.)
Pornography has become more accessible than ever since recent
advancements in technology. Pornography is at our fingertips everyday
even when we do not know it. There are more younger and younger
kids who are viewing porn, and becoming consumed by the violence
that is being portrayed. Over 95% of dating violence is committed by
men, and, very often its young men in their teens. (Sullivan I Trusted
You 98.) You can see how pornography is influencing many things,
and also harming and corrupting the minds of the youth. The new
generation is all about technology; never before have we had this much
technology, and this amount of young kids using it. We have toddlers
that are able to work an Ipad better than adult. Pornography became
widely available in the 1970s because of court rulings regarding first
amendment protections. Rape rates also were thought to be increasing
at this time and some concluded a casual relationship. (Ferguson
Aggression 327.) In the 1970s rape was increasing tremendously due
to pornography, you can only imagine what is it like now in 2015. It
has become easier to not only access these images but also upload your
own. There are more people submitting their own videos and pictures
of them sexual assaulting women. Images like this has been in high
demand, and are all over the Internet.
A common factor between men and rape is power. When there
is a clear divider on who has the power many times it can lead to bad
things. Sexual assault is not about sex, it is about control and power.
Power over women is taught at and early age, but is also taught
throughout porn. When men have power over women, the possibility
of rape exists. (Vogelman The Sexual 146.)

a new way of thinking, and
feeling, and also promote a safer
environment for everyone.
Feminist pornography is hoping
to spread and although it will be
difficult, it is also hoping to take
over the porn industry and
eliminate all other porn.
It would be wrong to blame
sexual assault solely on
pornography, because
pornography is not raping
innocent people, but people are.
