---------------------- Total Score so far -- look at table below for conversion to grade point
CLASS STATS at the moment: Top Quartile: 88.5% (3.5), Median: 79.5% (2.9), Low Quartile: 72.6% (2.4)

Keep in mind that only about 30% of the total points for the class have been earned,
so your grade can be improved (or lowered) A LOT, depending on the rest of your performance.

Formatting tips:
When entering trig functions in Webassign, use parentheses around the argument
(even if the question doesn't.)
For example, write sin(2t), not sin2t.
Also, write

if you mean

that actually means

10.2 Derivatives and Parametric Curves

parametric applet

NOTE: Section 10.2 contains multiple topics. Read only the "Tangents" section. (The rest involve
integrals, and will be discussed in math 125 )
Recall that parametric equations for a curve:

contain more information than the Cartesian equation (the curve + a certain "motion" along the curve).
In particular a parametric curve at a point has 3 derivatives:

Ex:

a) Find the equation(s) of the tangent line(s) at the point (1, -2)

b) Find the points where the tangent line is horizontal

c) Find the points where the tangent line is vertical

d) Find the equation(s) of the tangent line(s) at the point (3,0)

e) Find all the points where the tangent line has slope 4.

e) Find all the points where the tangent line has slope 4.
