Margate will sponsor Fourth of July fireworks 9 p.m. Friday, July

4, in the area of Huntington Avenue beach. Longport will present a
fireworks display to celebrate the end of summer Saturday, Aug. 30 at
dusk, at the Community Center, 33rd and Atlantic avenues. Rain date

in Ventnor, kayaking is allowed at
Princeton, Buffalo, and Lafayette, and
between Surrey and Suffolk avenues.

when Beachstock, the planets biggest
beach party, returns for its fth year 7:30
a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, June 27. Located on the beach between the Huntington
and Granville avenues behind the Margate Public Library, this nonstop party
gets into full swing around 10 a.m. with
live music and dancing, a food court and
beer garden, vendors, a kids stage with
games, shows, music, treasure hunts, a
free surf clinic, and a movie on the beach
in front of Lucy the Elephant. The night
ends with a beach bonre brought to you

Comic drawing workshop

The Ventnor branch of the Atlantic
County Library will hold a comic drawing session with Marvel/DC Comics
illustrator Joe DelBeato 11 a.m.-noon

There are miles of white sand beaches in Ventnor, Margate and Longport
where you can enjoy a relaxing day in the sun and surf. Certain beaches are reserved
for surng, kayak and Hobie cat enthusiasts. Rest rooms are available at the Ventnor and Margate libraries. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Swim
only where lifeguards are present. Beach tags are required during season, except in
Margate where the beaches are free every Thursday as part of the towns Thrilling
Thursdays events. No dogs are allowed on the beach during the summer season.
