WHO ARE WE?

eduSOIL Education NPC (144-252 NPO) and eduSOIL Consultancy Pty. LTD (2014/206906/07) is a hybrid social
enterprise in partnership with the Design For Change (DFC) movement (India).

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
We offer the DFC methodology through our TransformME programme. Via four Mindfulness-based Citizenship

Intervention (MBCI) packs we enable learners, educators and youth to take action on issues affecting them by
developing holistic life skills and social entrepreneurship. As the official South African DFC partner, eduSOIL has
integrated mindfulness-based strategies that develop self-reflective and metacognitive skills to resolve intrinsic
barriers to learning and has designed an experiential learning process to address youth unemployment, providing
school interventions, training and job opportunities. As a partner of Teach A Man to Fish (UK), we enable schools
to receive School Enterprise Challenge resources to develop action projects into school businesses.

HOW DO WE DO IT?
We provide TransformME packs and training through direct sales or NPO donations for vulnerable communities.
Schools with annual fees of less than R2 000 per year are eligible for our NPO rates and considered as
beneficiaries of our ongoing fundraising efforts. Schools with fees of more than R2 000 per year are charged a
10% - 20% premium participation fee based on the school fees they charge per year. We also encourage private/
international schools to purchase a Starter Pack for a local school in a vulnerable community near them. We
assist the schools to engage affluent learners to support change projects initiated by the vulnerable community.

ARE OUR PROGRAMMES RECOGNISED AND RELEVANT?

Since 2010 DFC has pioneered child-led citizenship, enabling learners and teachers in 35 countries to address
issues affecting them through child-driven, social entrepreneurship. Endorsed by the Harvard School of Education
it received a 2012 INDEX award and a 2014 Ashoka/Lego Reimagine Learning award. eduSOILs founder is a
Spark* Changemaker, engaged in a Masters in Education study measuring the impact of the programme on
stress and mindfulness levels as well as 21st century skills and dispositions of learners, educators and youth.
eduSOIL intends to offer accredited training for professional development and learnerships in the future.
