Professional Experience

Throughout the past 6 months, I have worked as a classroom teacher at


East Loddon P-12 College. I have been responsible teaching Year 6
Literacy, Year 5 Humanities and Year 3 Numeracy lessons on
measurement. Through the allocation of extras, I have been provided the
opportunity to work in Year 6 Maths classes, Year 6 PE classes, Year 5/6
Sport classes, Year 1/2 PE class, Year 6 Humanities class, Year 5 Maths
class, and Year 9/10 PE class, Year 9/10 Computer Programming class, all
of which giving me a chance to experience subjects and classes outside of
my normal duties.
Professional Experience Placements
Throughout my Bachelor Degree and Master Degree I have undertaken
many placements within school settings. These placements are outlined
below:
20/07/2009-07/09/2009 8 half days Mount Evelyn Primary School This was
an introduction to the school setting during the first year of my Bachelor
of Education/Arts course. It required 8 half days observations over a
period of eight weeks. Even though the placement was an observation
round, I was able to work with the students in this year 3-4 class in small
group settings as well as one on one. Mount Evelyn Primary School is a
government P-6 school and is located in the Dandenong Ranges east of
Melbourne. At the time of my placement Mount Evelyn Primary School had
397 students enrolled.
03/05/2010-10/05/2010 6 days Chirnside Park Primary School This was a
further observation placement for 6 full days during the second year of my
Bachelor of Education/Arts course, providing a greater understanding of
the workings of a primary school. I was again given the opportunity to
work with individuals and small groups within this year 3 classroom.
Chirnside Park Primary School is a government P-6 school and is located in
the outer east of Melbourne. At the time of my placement Chirnside Park
Primary School had 224 students enrolled.
09/08/2010-27/08/2010 10 days Luther College This was my first
placement within the secondary setting during the second year of my
Bachelor of Education/Arts Course and it provided me with the opportunity
to observe classes from a range of domains across all 7-12 year levels. I
was able to work with students in many of these classrooms in small
group settings and also to provide assistance while circulating the
classrooms. My supervising teacher allowed me to take one of her Year 7
Humanities lesson on ancient Rome which was fantastic. Luther College is
an independent 7-12 secondary school located in Croydon which is in the
Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. At the time of my placement Luther College
had 1113 students enrolled.

07/05/2012-25/05/2012 15 days East Loddon P-12 College This was my


first placement during my Master of Teaching course and was for a 3 week
period. I was working in secondary Humanities classes and preparing work
relating to the appropriate VELS levels. I also observed many other classes
during my placement. East Loddon P-12 College a government P-12 school
and is located in northern Victoria approximately 48km north of Bendigo.
At the time of my placement East Loddon P-12 College had 249 students
enrolled.
15/10/2012-16/11/2012 25 days Echuca College This was my first full
secondary placement in the first year of my Master of Teaching course. I
observed classes from a range of domains and year levels and taught
classes in both Year 7 and Year 9 Humanities covering geography VELS
outcomes in Year 9 and economics VELS outcomes in Year 7. Echuca
College is a government 7-12 secondary school located in Echuca in
northern Victoria. At the time of my placement Echuca College had 791
students enrolled.
15/07/2013-16/08/2013 25 days Rochester Primary School This was the
final placement of my Master of Teaching course and I was working in a
Year4/5 composite class. In the early days of my placement I worked with
small groups of students and helped individuals where necessary before
moving into taking all maths lessons covering the topics of mass and
capacity. In my final week of placement I had full control of the classroom,
delivering lessons covering maths, literacy and science while also being
involved in further lesson planning with my supervising teacher. Rochester
Primary School is a government P-6 school and is located in northern
Victoria. At the time of my placement Rochester Primary School had 193
students enrolled.
