OFFICE OF THE CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATION (ADMISSION SECTION) Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (UP) REVISED NOTIFICATION for Admission to Ph.D Program, 2015-2016 (For Indian Nationals Only) D.No. 599 /Adms Dated : 09.06.2015 The Aligarh Muslim University offers a full-time Program leading to the award of Ph.D. degree in various disciplines in the Faculties / Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit of the University. The Admission to Ph.D. program Is offered normally once a year as per the admission policy approved by the Academic Council. The selection of candidates in Ph.D. program will be made through an Admission Test to be ‘conducted by the University followed by a “Presentation-cum-Interview” of those who qualify the Admission Test. PI (DA candidate will be eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. program, if he/she has obtained the Master's Degree or its equivalent recognized by the University in a subject relevant to his/her proposed field of research with not less than 35% marks in the aggregate or its equivalent CPI/CGPA/NAG, and had also obtained the Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent recognized by the University less than 50% marks in the aggregate or its equivalent CP/CGPA/NAG, subject to ‘any further requirements for eligibility that may be laid down by the University from time to time (i) A candidate, working in an externally funded research projec in the University, who is otherwise eligible, may be permitted to apply for admission to Ph.D. program while continuing to work in the project subject to certification by the Principal Investigator of the project that the subject of the project and the proposed Ph.D. topic of the candidate are similar. 1 A candidate eligible for admission to Ph.D. program in more than one faculty of the University can apply for the same but he /she will have to fill separate application form for each faculty. Candidate eligible for admission in more than one Department / Centre / Unit in the same faculty can apply for admission in not more than one discipline within the faculty. The candidate should fill the Online Application Form available on the Controller's Office website www.amucontrollerexams.com by 11.07.2015 and the generated PDF copy of the Application Form should be submitted in the Office of the Chairman department concerned along with the Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- (Non refundable) drawn in favour of Finance Officer, AMU, Aligarh, payable at Aligarh or through Challan Form in the Canara Bank, AMU Branch Aligarh. The Generated PDF copy of the Application Form must reach the Office of the Chairman Department concerned/ Director of Centre/Coordinators of Unit of the university on or before 5: ¥ Incomplete Application Forms, those received after the expiry of last date, without requisite fee or not supported with the required certificates/documents (including Postal delay) shall be rejected and no further correspondence shall be entertained in this regard. No employee of this University / any another organization, other than a teacher of this University, will be allowed to complete admission formalities until and unless he/she submits a Leave Sanction Order from the competent authority for the whole duration of the Program (Minimum Two Years for Ph.D). Note: No Certificates /Documents shall be accepted after the last date. Fill up the ONLINE Application Form by following the instructions given in the Guide to Admissions 2015-16, Ordinances (Academic) /Regulations and Thrust Areas already available on the website. 2. Take the Printout of the PDF Generated Application Form on A-4 Size paper of 80 GSM. 3. Put your thumb impression, signature and paste your recent photographs (same while has been uploaded with online Application Form) at the designated place on the Application Form, ‘Attach the appropriate Demand Draft/ Copy of Challan Form along with other document(s) with the Application Form and do not fold or mutilate it in any way. 5. Put the Application Form inside the A-4 Size Envelope and paste the Postal Slip on the Top after filling it properly. 6. Despatch it through Post / by hand so as to reach to the Office of the Chairman of the Department concerned ‘AMU, Aligarh on or before the last date of receipt of Application Form i.e. 16.07.2045 till 5.00 p.m. sharp.
