Rockwell Kent: The Shakespeare Portfolio Exhibition
Jacksonville, Fla.The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens presents Rockwell Kent: The
Shakespeare Portfolio, an exhibition on display November 24, 2015 through May 15, 2016. In
1936, American artist Rockwell Kent (1882-1971) completed a limited edition series of
illustrations for The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. This portfolio was recently
gifted to the Cummer Museum and, after conservation, is ready for its debut presentation. Shown
in conjunction with the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeares death, the exhibition celebrates the
legacies of two leading figures in their respective fields. Find a list of our events and specific

Get a first look at the Museums recently-gifted collection of illustrations of The Complete Works
of Shakespeare, by American Artist Rockwell Kent. Do not miss the debut of these beautifully
conserved works. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Cummer Caf.
MOVIE NIGHT: ROMEO + JULIET
Friday, February 12
Doors Open at 6 p.m., Movie at 7 p.m. | Members $15, Non-Members $20
Add a little romance to your Valentines Weekend with a special screening of the 1996 film,
Romeo + Juliet, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. Entry includes beer and wine,
popcorn, and sweet treats. Museum Galleries will be open from 6 to 7 p.m. for guests to view
The Shakespeare Portfolio.
