EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Planning an appropriate electrical design is an essential part of a safe and efficient structural
design. The group designed an electrical system of a residential unit plan guided by the
Philippine Electrical Code (PEC). The group constructed an electrical plan that is supplied by
two sources: 1.) the traditional commercial electricity distributors and 2.) solar energy.
Power consumption was estimated according to the PEC provisions and as demanded by
the design. From this, electrical fixtures from switches, electrical outlets, wires, breakers and
solar powered components were appropriately sized.
Key Words: electrical design, solar energy, Philippine Electrical Code
