Call for papers


The Organising Committee of AFC 2013 cordially invite scientists,
technologists and industry colleagues to present papers (oral and/or
poster) in the following sessions:
1 Advanced metallic materials science and engineering, Computer Application
2 Cast Irons and Steels
3 Non ferrous and light alloys
4 Heat, cryogenic and surface treatments
5 Moulding, pattern, tool and core making and rapid prototyping technologies
6 Foundry technology, equipment, manufacturing, tools, automation
Abstract Submission
Interested authors are requested to submit a one-page abstract of their
paper in the following format:
1- A4 size; margin of 3cm on all four sides; double-space; Arial; 12 point.
2- The abstract should include: (1) title of paper; (2) name of author(s)
underline the presenting author at the congress ; (3) an abstract of not
more than 400 words in length, containing background information and
objectives, materials and methods, major results and conclusions; (4) 6
keywords; and (5) a footnote with author(s) academic degrees,
professional titles, affiliations, mailing addresses and email addresses.
Deadline for abstract submission
31 March 2015, through the online submission portal at www.afc13.org
The abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee who shall
communicate with the
corresponding author their acceptance either for oral or poster
presentation together with the
required format of full papers through email by 31 July 2015. The due date
for submitting the full paper is 1st August 2015. Full papers received after
the due date will not be included in the congress proceedings.

2. Paper Format
1) The total amounts of words should be limited to 6000 (including the
text and figure captions).
2) All tables should be three-line table, and high resolution TIFF, JPEG
figures are required.

3. Paper Publication
All received papers will be examined and verified, and among which, some
will be chosen to be included in. Key papers will be recommended to
China Foundry which will be fully included by the SCI.

ABSTRACT
This file provides a template for writing papers for the 2015 AFC-13 congress . The congress
proceedings will be published in an electronic format only and abstracts will also be printed

to hand outs. The full paper in MS-Word file shall be written in compliance with these
instructions.
An abstract not exceeding 500 words should appear after the title of the paper, the names of
the authors and the contact information of the corresponding author. It should be an explicit
summary of your presentation that states the problem, the methods used, and the major results
and conclusions. It should be single-spaced in 12 point type, and Times New Roman font.
Keywords: Up to four keywords, 12 point type, left-justified

1 INTRODUCTION
It is expected that authors will submit carefully written and proofread material. The
maximum of paper length is 6 pages and single-spaced in 12 point type with Times New
Roman font. Moreover, please do not place the page number in your paper.
Papers should be written in English, clearly describe the background of the subject, the
authors work, including the methods used, and concluding discussion on the importance of
the work.

2 PAPER FORMAT
The uniform outlook will help the reader to follow the proceedings. This can be obtained
most easily if authors use this template file to construct their papers. Please note the
following details: this template is an A4 format with 20 ~25 mm margins left, right, top and
bottom. All text paragraphs should be single spaced, with first line indented about 10 mm (0.4
inch). Double spacing should only be used before and after headings and subheadings as
shown in this example. Position and style of headings and subheadings should follow this
example. No spaces should be placed between paragraphs.
2.1 Fonts
The body of your paper should use 12-point Times New Roman font. The styles available are
bold, italic and underlined.
It is recommended that text in figures is not smaller than 9-point font size.
2.2 Tables and Figures
Figure captions and table headings should be sufficient to explain the figure or table without
needing to refer to the text. Figures and tables not cited in the text should not be presented.

2.3 Equations
Each equation should be presented on a separate line from the text with a blank space
above and below. Equations should be clear and expressions used should be explained in the
text. Type all equations. Flush the body of equation in the middle. Equations should be
numbered in parentheses. Type equation numbers in Arabic numerals in parentheses.

2.4 References
References should be cited in numerical order and according to their order of
appearance. They should be numbered and enclosed in brackets.
In the case of two citations, the numbers should be separated by a comma [6,7]. In the case of
more than two references, the numbers should be separated by a dash [8-10].

3 SUBMITTING THE PAPER


The full paper has to be submitted electronically at the AFC-13 congress web site
And it should be submitted by September 30, 2013.

4 CONGRESS PROGRAM AND PROCEEDINGS


The abstracts will be hard-copied and available at the beginning of the congress ; Final papers
will be compiled into the congress Proceedings CD-ROM.

5 CONCLUSION
Conclusions should state concisely the most important propositions of the paper as well as the
authors views of the practical implications of the results.

REFERENCES
Use 10-point Times New Roman font for the references and list references at the end of the paper. Include
the following information (as applicable).
[1] For a book: author(s), book title, page or chapter numbers, publisher, city, (year).
[2] For a journal paper: author(s), paper title (in quotes), journal name, volume and issue numbers, page
numbers (inclusive), (year).
[3] For a proceedings paper or chapter in an edited book: author(s), paper or chapter title (in quotes), volume
title, editor(s), volume number (if applicable), publisher, city, page numbers (inclusive), (year).
