the year of the Third International Conference on Financing For Development, held in Addis Ababa

Goals (SDGs). It will also be the year of the COP21 Conference in Paris. Thus, given the broad range
of stakeholders involved in said debates and agreements, the role of the IMF and institutions fostering

of structural impediments within the IMF, appropriate collaborations and policy recommendations,
the aim is to find ways to foster financial deepening in developing countries as well as strengthening
and enforcing innovative financial tools in a sustainable way.

(In 2015, the 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP21), will, for the first time in over 20 years of UN
negotiations, aim to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate. One major goal is
to keep global warming below 2C. But in our quest to finding solutions for the reduction of gas
emissions, we have ignored a parallel, but increasingly crucial area of focus: adaptation. We are more
and more aware of the destructive effects (i.e. floods, droughts, storms, rising sea levels) that climate
change has on countries (especially African countries and Island states). Thus adaptation and
protection from climate change is of high importance in order to reduce its impact on the socioeconomic environment and in order to increase peace and safety. Adaptation covers a wide area, from
the understanding of the impact to adaptation practices, policies and financing mechanisms. The
UNFCCC Committee of the 2015 BIMUN/SINUB Conference will address these subjects.)
Council of the European Union Topic: Working towards a Global Low Carbon Economy
Through the Supervision of Trade Policies and Production Chains.
