This competancy was experienced day in day out on the job as I


had to be professional when dealing with work collegues and
sub-contractors. In addiotion I also had to follow conduct rules
and ethics within keepmoat.

I had to maintain client relationships whilst working at
keepmoat this would be with a housing assosication (Sheffield
Housing Company). On occasions this would include client
meetings and walking them around site.

communicate with members of our team in other departments

I had to take health & safety into account ever time I visited
site. Each site would have a site specific induction. In addition
to this Keepmoat made me sit a CITB test so I could then apply
for a CSCS Card that I could then take on site as a recognised
standard.

I produce a CVR (cost value reconciliation) each month, for


each site that I am looking after. These show the current
position of the project and where money is been saved/lost in
comparison to what was predicted at the start of the site.

Working with numerous sub-contractors on various sites, I had


meetings on site and in the office to resolve disputes with final
accounts, variations etc..

I managed data when reviewing tenders and issuing new
drawings and details to sub-contractors.

Working for a housing developer, houses were built to the code


for sustainable homes. My line of work I wasnt really involved
with this.

Working as a team was a key part of my role working as part of


the commercial team and in the keepmoat homes yorkshire
region. Co-operation with other team members was crucial to
ensure the success of projects.

BIM is something that Keepmoat will be looking into investing in


the near future. I didnt experience BIM much at work however I
attended a seminar & also a webinar on this subject. I was then
tasked with researching for my line manger on incorportating
BIM into the company.

Working in the commercial team I managed costs on a daily


basis, questioning variations as to why they were needed in the

contracts I dealt with was ones between Keepmoat and the subcontractors, I set orders up for various trades.

in place and had to chase them for their latest certificates to
ensure they got paid. However I didnt deal with Insurance
regulary.

Whilst working at Keepmoat I have sent several jobs/projects
out for tender to sub-contractors of all trades, I would then
analyse all tender returns to select the most
competative/suitable contractor.

This was produced by our contracts managers however in
relation to the programme and planning I have had to create
build WIPS to show cashflow in line with their programmes.

I had plenty of relative experience to this competancy when I


was learnt how to complete monthly CVR's which show
reconcile all costs associated within a project and shows
forecasts of final costs on the job.

Post contract cost control

Post contract cost control is a big part of my job role,


monitoring costs for the duration of the site though valuations,
CVR's, right up to final accounts at completion.

Financial risks on a project are highlighted prior to start and


evaluated thoroughly to eliminate as many as possible.
