Survey and analysis of Chinese and Vietnamese patients satisfactions on acupuncture

Abstract: Objective: Though the survey and analysis of the satisfaction of acupuncture on patients in China and
Vietnam to provide reference for exchanges and cooperation of acupuncture and TCM industry between two coutries. Methods:
A questionnaire sample survey method was adopted, during the August 2010 to August 2011 period, a total 2000 outpatient and
hospitalized cases in hospital of Guangzhou and Hanoi were investigated. Survey respondents included 19 projects such as health
status, acupuncture treatment overview, etc. Results: Overall satisfaction of Chinese patients with the acupuncture treatment was
80% while the Vietnamese patients was 47%. About doctors and nurses' attitude, the very satisfied and satisfied rates of Chinese
patients were 94% and 95%; while the Vietnamese patients were 94% and 95%. To the use of disposable needles for treatment,
the very satisfied and satisfied rate of Chinese patients was 94%; while the Vietnamese patients was 45%. Conclusion: There still
has room for improvement of acupuncture in China and Vietnam, we should strengthen international exchange and cooperation for
common progress.
