World Religions 2300

Reflection
From taking this class I have gained so much knowledge about different cultures and
religions around the world. For example, I didnt even know that Sikhism was a type of religion
since its a fairly young religion that was established 500 years ago. Before this class I didnt
know anything about Islam and now I have learn that Islam have very similar beliefs with
Christianity and Judaism.
When it comes to the community unparticular, I wasnt away of how much religious
diversity there was in this valley. Since our community is strongly Christian based, its fairly
easy for other religions to not be recognized as often by the community. I know quite a few
people that dont have knowledge of different religions and probably dont know about how
many different types of churches there are just in the Salt Lake Valley.
From the many field trips to different places of worship and learning about their beliefs in
lectures, it is clear to see how members feel about theirs religions and worship. Some religions
receive bad reputation because of people who do bad things and still claim that religion as their
own. What Ive learned through this entire experience is if a member of a religion is faithful and
follows theirs standards of living, they wont do any evil if they truly love their God.
