Reflection
Over the years I have been shown numerous ways to compose a paper or a project. Each
way provides its own benefits and along with that negatives depending on the person. For
instance, the traditional paper writing style is effective in that it is a plain form of ideas that can
be abstract or simple depending on the end goal. On the other side of that there is the digital
format. Digital provides a medium where ideas can be presented visually in order to appeal to a
more visually oriented audience. Altogether, both are effective.
My own writing style however appeals more so to that of the paper not the digital,
because in my own style I write to get points across although I may be more of a tactile learner. I
do see the benefits of a digital format because of the ability of digital to be more engaging by
allowing the reader to be able to engage and interact with the document. I also appeal to the
traditional paper because in my own writing process I would normally begin by laying out my
ideas, creating a thesis along with an introduction and conclusion then attempt to arrange them in
what I would feel as the most effective way to illustrate my goal.
My writing process is always changing with the advent of new processes that I learn
along my way in schooling. When the year began I would normally sit down and write my paper
in a linear fashion and only do research when it was necessary rather than look for research first
then basing my writing on my research. As of now I recognize this as an ineffective process
because in some cases the research may not be available or the research may not be able to
effectively support a point whereas when research is found first it provides a platform for the

paper and allows a thesis based on the research to be formed. On top of that, this also benefits
my writing process because I would beforehand create pieces and try to solve them like a puzzle
purely based on ideas but with the advent of the first hand research allows me to more effectively
orchestrate my ideas.
Creating visual projects on the other hand is in reality a very well suited candidate for this
process. Visual projects are well suited because it allows for the same cohesion of ideas in the
same way as my traditional paper format essay would because the construction of other visual
can be made in a way that coincides well with research that was done before hand and then an
introduction, conclusion and thesis can be formed much in the same way a traditional paper is
formed.
All in all there are many different writing styles and formats to contain those styles and
ideas. Each and every one appeals to a different audience or author but each possess the ability to
convey the same ideas and are in constant evolution for every author.
