E.2 PREPARATION

Preparation forms an integral part of the training activity content. Please explain all the following points:

Im already in contact with the organizing institution and during the preparation phase
Ill continuously communicating with them and follow their detailed preparation
programme. With the help of the organizing institution I had the chance to work out a
preparation programme tailored on my needs. Ill access the well-structured predeparture programme put together by the organizing institution and already used in
the previous editions of the In-Service training course Ive chosen. At the core of the
preparation phase as the organizing institution explained me there will be an ad-hoc Elearning portal that will allow me to run the preparation and access the needed
material (support documents, reading materials, questionnaires, ) in freedom and in
a way that is compatible with my normal work. Im planning to dedicate about 8 hour a
week for the first 2 months of preparation and about 12/20 hours in the last 2-3 weeks
of preparation. Ill have a personal account on the database where my progress will be
recorded and monitored by the organizing institution. Based on my progress different
reading materials will be suggested. Through the e-learning portal Ill access and
carefully study the reading materials that will be provided (including EU publications,

programme guides, ad hoc slide). On the E-learning portal the participants I will fill a
pre-start questionnaire and depending on the result Ill access and study specific
reading materials. Ill complete the reviewing exercise available on the e-learning
website and I will trace my learning process. During the preparation phase I will fill in
the e-learning website a description of myself, my work and my expectations. I will
read the ones of the trainers and of the other trainees and Ill start communicating and
interacting with them. In this way Ill be able to improve my knowledge regarding the
theme of the training but as well engage a intercultural dialogue. The fact that the
training team is multinational and have experience in more than one European
countries will be a great asset and will widening the learning opportunities both forma
pedagogic and cultural point of view. In the website moreover Ill access cultural
information about basic Italian language and Italian culture, from food to social topics.
During the preparation phase there will be one main skype meeting with all the
participant to wrap up the preparation phase and know each other. Ill actively take
part in this skype meeting making the most of this moment.
Moreover in the e-learning website I will write a list of 1-3 project ideas connected with
the activities that Im running or I would like to run at OPAD. Ill carefully developed
the ideas starting from my organization needs and form real and concrete case

result of the training. Infact in the e-learning website the ideas will be voted and the
most interesting will be developed during the course in group of 3-4 people.
Finally Ill carefully read the course infosheet (including logistic information,
emergency contacts, what to bring, basic linguistic phrases, insurance rights ) that
the organizing institution will send me.
The training will be held in English. My knowledge of this language is advanced and

My main training needs are:
- Learn how the project management really works and how to manage an high quality
national and transnational education project;
- Develop practical skills related to the management of the ideation and application
process;
- Learn and get guidance on the preparation and management of the financial,
budgeting and contractual aspects through concrete examples and direct evidence;
- Learn about EU policies and funding opportunities for learning projects and develop
concrete competences to access this opportunities;
- Make contacts with individuals and organizations from other European countries
interested in developing education projects.
ADD MORE TRAINING NEEDS BASED ON YOUR WORK.
Ive chosen this in-service training to improve my practical skills in the design,
management and funding of European projects related to adult learning and
education. This will be highly beneficial to myself and the organization Im working in.
I believe there is a very good match between my needs and the aims of the training
that was what I was just looking for because it should help me and OPAD to improve
the quality and the accessibility of learning opportunities and projects empowering
and training education staff, NGO workers and volunteers, education-degrees
graduates and those interested in developing European learning projects to
successfully access and manage European funds.
I think that this match is reinforced by the methodology of the course that was one of
the main reason why Ive chosen it. The methodology is infact highly practical and
concrete. The trainers will make extensive use of evidence-based examples and
experiences. Every day to assimilate and deepen the concepts successful projects will
be presented and analyzed by the trainers and by others experts invited to bring their
real accounts. This approach I believe answers perfectly to my need to better
understand how the project management really works and how to manage an high
quality education project. Moreover every day there will be a 2-hour daily session
dedicated to cooperative design and writing simulation in team of 4 people. With the
support of the trainers at the end of the course each team will have developed a first
draft of a European project. This activity, again, is crucial to let me achieve my aims.
Finally the fact that the networking and cooperation among participants will be
supported and stimulated at each stage will enable me to develop important contacts
for myself and my organization future transnational activities. The fact that the trainer
team will be transnational itself is again a good match to my training needs.

My institution will greatly benefit from my attendance in this training since I will bring
back crucial knowledge to better design and manage transnational education projects.
Moreover Ill share the learned competences with my colleagues organizing a public

presentation in which Ill present the project Id developed during the training and as
well all my notes and my progress in the e-learning website. Moreover Ill share within
my organization and with my relevant colleagues the international contacts Ill acquire
during the training and as well all the material Ill receive during the training and
through the e-learning platform.

Due to the topic that Ive chosen, attending the training in a multinational
environment will make a crucial different. One of my and mine organization main aim
is to develop transnational educational projects. Managing and designing this kind of
projects means working in a multinational context and during the training Ill be able
to try it in practice. Moreover Ill be able to network and gain crucial contacts for the
future project Ill develop and exchange good practice with people from several
European countries. I was told that in the last edition of the training there were people
from more than 10 countries. Moreover the training team itself is multinational and
have experience in more than one European countries thus widening the learning
opportunities. Ill have the chance to see how the design and management of
education projects is carried out in other countries and this add a crucial potential.
During the training we will develop some projects. Having the chance to develop
project with international organization that can be partner of my organization in the
future has a huge added value that I could not have if I would attend the same training
with people from my country only. Moreover the fact that Ill be in the alumni
community of the training and so in the position to further communicate, exchange
ideas and best practices and cooperate with the other participant at my editions and
at other editions of the training will widen my and my organization Europeam
dimension.
Participating in this training will be a crucial step for giving a wider European
dimension to my organzation. From one side after this training Im looking forward to
develop future project with a strong European dimension. The list of contacts and the
networking potential of this training will help my organization to widen the work at
European level. Finally, if Ill be satisfied, Ill share this experience with my colleagues
fostering the participation to similar events at European level.

At the end of the training there will be an official certification award and Ill receive a
certificate of attendance including description of training content and time input.
After attending the in-service training Ill update my Europass CV and my Europass
Language Passport with the new competences Ill develop both on a linguistic level
and for what concern the new knowledge and skills related to project management
and design. On the linguistic level attending a training in English will be helpful to
practice my English language but at the same time Im looking forward to practice
other European language in the free time and get to know more Italy from a
intercultural point of view.

Ill share the learned competences with my colleagues organizing a public

share this knowledge with my contacts interested in designing and managing
education projects. Ill stay in contact with the participants and trainers through the elearning portal and the YouNet alumni network will help me in disseminating the
results even through social networks.
