2014 TRIP TO CERN IN GENEVA SWITZERLAND

On the 21st - 24th July me, Amber and a group of Year 10s went on an
eventful trip to Switzerland to learn about and see the LHC (large hadron
collider) at CERN in Geneva. We went 103metres underground to get to
the LHCb and had explanations about particle physics and how the LHCb
is being used to collide protons to find out about the big bang.

We stayed in a hostel that was ideally located close to Lake Geneva and
many shops. In addition to the Globe of Science at CERN we visited a
range of other attractions
Overall, we would recommend this trip to any Year 10s who have an
interest in science, politics, arts and want an eventful, enjoyable and highly
informative experience.
