Foreword
You might be wondering if Im really serious. Some of the most brilliant minds in
the world have been trying to find a cure for diabetes for five decades and
suddenly I have the nerve to say I found it?
Thats what Im saying.
But I didnt discover anything new. The cure has always been there. The problem
is that people have more faith in medicine these days than in their own bodies. I
can certainly understand why. Sickness is so prevalent in our society that it has
just been accepted as part of living.
Get rid of that notion immediately. Sickness is not a normal part of life. At least, it
shouldnt be. It doesnt have to be. Youve already taken the first step toward a
healthier you in looking for answers.
My research into type 2 diabetes began with a desire to write an article that
would be of benefit to my diabetic readers. I had no idea at the time how complex
the journey would be, or of the vast importance that insulin has in the human
body. I am still in awe at what I have learned. This book is the result of that
research.
The key to living life in wellness and vitality starts with understanding. Part of all
the confusion in health care today lies in the fact that the patient is most often
kept in the dark about their condition. The great thing is that once you know how
your body was designed, how it works, and why it falls apart, you will be able to
wade through the mystery with much more confidence and success.
Our beliefs dictate our actions. The only way to change an action is to change the
belief behind it. And the way we do that is through understanding.

The path to wellness is outlined for you here. All you have to do is have the will to
follow it.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you plan on changing any part of your lifestyle as a result of the information
contained here, find a healthcare practitioner who is familiar with these principles
to guide you. Diabetes is a serious matter and should not be taken lightly.

Diabetes Statistics
There are 25.8 million people in the United States, both adults and children,
who are suffering with diabetes. Thats 8.3% of the population!
7 million of those have not been diagnosed.
There are another 79 million people that are on their way to being diabetic
and dont know it.
Approximately 2 million new cases of diabetes are diagnosed in people aged
20 years and older each year. That statistic is rising.
About 1 in 10 people over the age of 20 has diabetes regardless of gender.

Cost of Diabetes
Approximately $174 billion are spent on this disease each year and climbing.
$116 billion are direct medical costs.
$58 billion are for indirect costs (disability, work loss, early deaths, etc.)
The average medical costs among people with diabetes are 2.3 times higher
than if they didnt have diabetes.
If we factor in additional expenditures of diabetes that is undiagnosed, in the
pre-disease stages, and gestational diabetes in pregnant women, the total
cost is about $218 billion each year.
With this data in mind, how intelligent do you think it is to continue looking to the
current diabetes treatment model for the answers to this illness? Despite all of our
efforts, this epidemic continues to worsen.

12
Why do we give them all the money and time they need? Its because we dont
know what else to do. We are desperate to be saved from the stress and suffering
that accompanies this disease and all the unknowns we might ultimately face.
The truth is that medicine will never find a cure for diabetes.
Why? Because theyre not trying to cure diabetes by addressing what actually
causes it.
The body is not inflicted with disease. The body creates what we call
disease when it is forced to adapt to something it is lacking or when some
kind of toxin is present in its environment. Disease is an effect, a response,
and to reverse the effect you have to address the cause.
It all comes down to how you perceive the human body. There are two different
ways to look at it:
1. The body is inherently prone to make mistakes and will slowly begin to
malfunction and fall apart as we age. Disease is random and unpredictable
and all we can do is try our best to be healthy and hope we get lucky.
2. The body is intelligent and a miracle of life. Disease is nothing more than a
list of changes the body has made as an intelligent response to an unhealthy
situation. The bodys response is always meant to maximize life and health.
Not sure which group you belong to? Dont worry, you will. Read on
Lets say you were driving your car and suddenly the engine light came on. What
would you do? The engine light is a symptom, a warning that a deeper, more
serious issue is present somewhere. What is the best course of action in this
instance?

Think of it
If you are prescribed diabetes medication, most likely youll have to take it for the
rest of your life simply because the actual cause of the disease is never addressed.
In fact, the cause is NEVER EVEN DISCUSSED WITH YOU!
After a time, the side-effects of the medication will cause other problems which
also need to be managed. Its not uncommon for someone using prescription
diabetes medication to also be taking 2 - 5 other drugs to control the side-effects
of the first. Not to mention, your body isnt any healthier for it. Its still falling
apart, so eventually there will be more extensive and costly procedures required
to save your body and your life.
This all equals HUGE profits.

I dont deny that medicine saves lives. I also dont deny that there is a desperate
need for it when there isnt enough time for wellness measures to take effect. But
medical care is sickness care. They have no way of keeping us healthy.
In the end, the answer to being free from diabetes is the simplest idea in the
world. We have to follow our genetic programming, and that is what this book is
about.

If you want to make a room brighter, can you gather up all the darkness and
remove it? No, you cannot. You have to increase the amount of light to do that.
This is what I mean when I say that disease is not real. Im really saying that
disease is not a thing. It is simply the absence, or rather a lack, of health.
People who believe they can have a disease and still be healthy are sadly
mistaken. There is a chasm between the two states. You cannot be sick
and healthy at the same time.
This concept is why the medical profession has failed in finding a cure forwell,
pretty much anything. Its like trying to eliminate darkness by removing darkness.
It simply doesnt work. It will never work - ever, no matter how much research is
done or how much money is raised.

If you run, your blood pressure goes up. Is this a malfunction? No, it is a response.
If you eat a big piece of cake, your blood sugar rises. Is this a malfunction? No, it is
a response. This is also how the body reacts to bad things we do to it and/or good
things we deny it.
What we call disease, then, is just the body responding to either a lack of
something it needs:
Good nutrition
Adequate rest
Proper exercise
Fun and relaxation
Healthy home life
Healthy emotional responses
Chemicals in food
Factory-made food
Relationship stress
Prescription drugs
Emotional strain
Physical strain

As the body adapts to various stressors, the cool, shiny instruments at the doctors
office detect something out of balance (blood pressure, insulin, heart rate) or you
feel symptoms (headaches, fatigue, heart palpitations, pain, etc.) These symptoms
are what the medical profession tries to eliminate or manage with drugs. The
problem is that the symptoms are the effect.
Chronic and degenerative diseases (those that take time to develop) are an effect.
Type 2 diabetes is an effect!
Do you see why finding a cure is so difficult? This approach can never, and will
never, produce a state of health in the human body.

heart attack. It takes years to cross that chasm between health and sickness, for
degenerative illnesses to get bad enough to be detected.

something affects disease, not whether it makes a person healthy. They are two
entirely different things.
For instance, they have found that 30 minutes of exercise on a daily basis can
reduce the symptoms of hypertension, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, heart
problems, diabetes, and even some cancers. Now here is the problem
Simply adding something to your life that lessons your disease does not take you
all the way down the field, crossing that huge chasm of empty space, to health.
It may only take you to the thirty-yard-line. So does it make you healthy? No, it
doesnt.
www.goodlivingwarehouse.com
22
23
Its like saying its better for you to smoke one pack of cigarettes a day instead of
two. Thats absurd! There is no such thing as a toxic activity that is better for you
than another.
Crossing the chasm is quite simple. Whenever youre making a decision about an
activity or something youre going to put into your body, ask yourself which
direction on the field youre going to move as a result.
The game is won one yard at a time.

25
Whenever I ask this question, immediately someone answers, Because they only
lived to be 20 or 30 years old.
In many cases they didnt even survive into their teens, but research shows that
they rarely died from any of the diseases prevalent today.
The main causes of death back then were starvation and a lack of emergency care.
If you broke a leg, cut yourself, or contracted an infection from an animal bite, you
were pretty much toast. However, according to anthropologists today, those that
did make it into their 60s and beyond (about 20%) showed nearly zero signs of
diabetes, heart disease, cancer, or related illnesses.
Listen carefully, all genetic theory is simply that a theory, just an attempt to
explain why we get sick, but somewhere along the way it has been accepted as
truth. Weve been hearing about it for so long that we believe it without question,
so much so that we often fail to take personal responsibility for our health
because weve been told that illness just happens by chance and is inevitable as
we age (degenerative).
The field of epigenetics is tearing that theory to pieces.
The American Institute for Cancer Research has stated that up to 70% of
cancers can be prevented with a healthy lifestyle! (This could not be true if
cancer was purely genetic).
The American Heart Association says that the number one reason people
suffer from heart disease and strokes is that they are not dedicated to a
heart healthy way of life. (No mention of genes here.)
This is huge! It means that you are not destined to follow in your parents
footsteps, that you are not doomed to suffer from the same ailments and
illnesses that your parents and grandparents did.
www.goodlivingwarehouse.com
25
26
The entire way we view health is changing and that is good news for diabetes
sufferers because it forces us to look at disease in a different way.
www.goodlivingwarehouse.com

27
If you were walking down the street and happened upon a dead animal infested
with maggots, would you assume the maggots killed it, or would you know that
they were simply eating the decaying matter? Do you see the difference? Can you
make the animal well again by killing the maggots? No way!
Do you see how that changes everything? The tissue under the microscope was
sick for an entirely different reason and killing the bacteria could never (and will
never) bring about a state of health.
There are ten times more bacteria in your digestive tract than there are cells in
your body! What does that tell you? If you believe your body is prone to error and
sickness, it tells you youre in big trouble. If you believe your body is intelligent, it
means that bacteria has a purpose and is vitally important.
The truth is it is supremely important! Most of your immune system is made of
bacteria and is found in your intestines. This is why antibiotics are so
controversial, because they kill your immune system and make your ability to fight
illness harder in the future.
27
28
and vitality. If the cells become stressed or faced with an unhealthy situation, they
will begin reading different books in order to restore balance.
Healthy cells = correct books = healthy function.
Unhealthy cells = wrong books = disease (imbalance).
Please understand that there is no malfunction here. Since the cells have become
sick, the body must change the way it works to adapt and still live as best it can.
The only way to prompt the body to read the right books again is to restore
health to the cells. How do we do that? Well cover that in the chapter entitled
The Diabetes Solution.
When you look in the mirror, you simply see the beautiful, perfectly-crafted
human specimen that you are. But in actuality you are a community of 50 trillion
cells all working together for the benefit of living and thriving.
Every single one of those 50 trillion cells does everything you do: They eat,
breathe, get rid of waste, metabolize, adapt, assimilate, reproduce, and they even
have a memory and the instinct to survive.
Your genes actually change according to how each cell reacts to what is going on
around it. They will turn on and off, and replicate or not, depending on which set
of books your cells are reading.
28
29
If the body is truly intelligent, then this would make sense. Since each cell has the
ability to adapt, they will change how they function depending on what is
happening around them. The cells will either thrive and express health (in a
healthy environment) or protect themselves and adapt (in a toxic environment).
This completely destroys the theory of heredity! On top of that, it is great news
because it means that whatever is causing diabetes is something within our
control.
The bottom line is this: You can indeed shape the next 30, 40, or 50 years of your
life. The future is not set in stone. This even means that the chronic and
degenerative diseases your doctor has told you are yours for life arent necessarily
so!
www.goodlivingwarehouse.com
29
30
Most medical doctors, as well as the authors of the Merck Manual, would laugh at
me if I suggested that there are only two causes of illness. It doesnt change the
fact, however, that its true.
Imagine you have two ponds. One pond is fed naturally by rainwater, runoff, plant
life, fish, insects, and all other natural environmental sources. The other pond you
feed with artificial sugar, soda, and various other chemicals made in a factory.
At first, you will see no difference in the two ponds. They will appear on the
surface to be the same. But after ten, twenty, and thirty years, there will be a
marked difference. All the plant and sea life will die in the second pond. The body
of water itself will be toxic.
When this same kind of poisonous assault is waged on the human body, it
must adapt. Chemical and hormonal changes must occur. The very
function of the body is altered because it will try to sustain itself the best
way it can.
High cholesterol, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, allergies, chronic fatigue,
asthma, ADD, and all the other diseases of today do not just happen to people.
There is always a reason, and research shows that the reason is rarely ever
genetic.
30
31
If you were given fertile soil and water but were kept in the dark, you wouldnt
have everything you genetically need to live and you would get sick and die early.
In the same way, if you indeed had all the necessary components for health, yet
you were being poisoned (toxicity) in some way, you still perish before your time.
This is a simple way to explain how the body gets sick. It either lacks something it
needs (deficiency) or its being poisoned by some kind of toxin (toxicity). Of
course, a combination of the two will simply accelerate the process.

humans and they ultimately left us a blueprint for living well and disease-free. Of
course, Im not advocating that wearing animal skin, sleeping on rocks, and
allowing insects to make a home in your hair is actually living well by any
standard, but studies show that these hunter-gatherer societies were virtually free
of the chronic and degenerative conditions that are so rampant in our world today
and they had the same genes as we do.
Scientists today tell us that those who survived animal attacks, injuries, starvation,
hostile tribes, and infection, and even groups residing in hunter-gatherer societies
existing today that have access to urgent care facilities, lived mostly free from the
many health issues that torment industrial America.
In fact, the average lifespan of an individual living today in the same type of
lifestyle as our Paleolithic ancestors can reach more than 80-100 active and
healthy years.
This does not make me want to rush out and fight a cougar with my bare hands or
pick mysterious berries from a bush and eat them for dinner, but perhaps there
are a few things we can learn from our disease-free caveman predecessors.
Boyd, M.D. reported in the New England Journal of Medicine that:
The human genetic constitution has changed relatively little since the
appearance of truly modern human beingsabout 40,000 years agoand
even the development of agriculture 10,000 years ago has apparently had a
minimal influence on our genes.
So our genes havent changed, but it has only been recently (about the past 100
years) that so-called genetic disorders have become so prevalent.
In an article Published in the January edition of the 2004 Mayo Clinic Proceedings
Journal, scientists reported that:

You might be wondering why your body, if it is indeed intelligent, would store fat
in your cells, and the answer is it has no choice! The problem is not that the body
is storing fat. The problem is the excess that is being consumed. Your body has to
do something with it. It doesnt just vaporize.
40
39
Here is how and why your cells come to ignore insulin and why the pancreas
seems to just quit its job one day.
Imagine you are a cell in your own body. All over you are tiny finger-like things
called receptors that protrude out into your environment so you can tell what is
going on around you. Much like the feelers on an insect, receptors sense what is
happening and relay that information to you.
This is a very important function. Just like your eyes tell you to dodge a careening
softball or your sense of touch makes you pull your hand away from a hot stove,
your receptors give you the information you need so you can adapt to your
surroundings, protect yourself, and stay healthy. They also allow the exchange of
some nutrients so you can get the nourishment you need to function.
Here is what happens
You are just traveling along doing your work, being the very best cell you can be,
and suddenly a surge of sugar enters the bloodstream in the form of
carbohydrates, glucose, fructose, etc. There is much more than what the body can
use at the time, so blood sugar rises and insulin gets released to store what is left
over.
39
40
The carbohydrates and sugars keep coming and blood sugar levels continue to rise
as a result, so the body is releasing more and more insulin to deal with it all.
Insulin levels keep rising and rising and the environment is becoming poisonous to
you. What can you do? If you dont do something you will be in danger.
So you do the only thing you can do. You start shutting off (or down-regulating)
some of your receptors, making them resistant to the onslaught. It is an act of selfdefense. This is called insulin resistance and is an attempt by the cell to save
itself. The more insulin is present, the more receptors will be shut off.
The body is not ignoring insulin for some unknown reason here. It is
protecting itself from rising levels of something toxic. If you were in a flooding
room, you would close off as many portals as possible through which water was
flowing in. Insulin resistance is just like this.
Insulin resistance is now considered a major factor in just about every
chronic illness that is a leading cause of death in the West.
Insulin resistance just makes the pancreas have to release more insulin to do the
same job, which causes more cells to become resistant, which makes the pancreas
work harder and harder and the cycle continues. Eventually the pancreas cant
keep up and the result is diabetes.
So what caused this? Was it a spooky, mysterious error in your genes or a lack of
expensive drugs in your bloodstream? Did your body just suddenly fall apart for no
reason because you turned a certain age? Absolutely not! It was a natural reaction
to a situation that the body sees as dangerous to the system.
Does the medical profession know all this? YES IT DOES!!!
The food we eat these days, which is mostly highly processed, high-carb, low-fiber
meals and snacks, causes a rapid blood sugar spike and a resulting rapid release
www.goodlivingwarehouse.com

of insulin, which leads to insulin resistance by the cells. So we have high amounts
of sugar in the blood and high amounts of insulin in the blood.
As you can see, insulin resistance is not a malfunction. It is an intelligent
response by the body to adapt to an unhealthy condition.
So, someone answer this question for me
How did anyone ever come to the conclusion that giving insulin to diabetics was a
good idea? This is not a blood sugar problem, it is an insulin problem, and medical
doctors are introducing into an already toxic system more of what is poisoning it.
Will you ever get better from this course of treatment? Not in a million years!

broken down into glucose during digestion), there are fewer doorways for Vitamin
C to get into the cell.
In this instance, if you were Vitamin C trying to get through the door to nourish
the cell, there would already be this big fat sugar-idiot standing there blocking
you.
This makes it almost impossible for V itamin C to help you fight off any
type of infection.
This is partly why eating sugar depresses your immune system. The issue isnt that
people are necessarily lacking Vitamin C, they are simply toxic with sugar and the
proper nutrients cant get to the cells. All the Vitamin C in the world wont fix this,
only freedom from the toxins will.

When your situation normalizes, magnesium will help the muscles in the blood
vessel walls relax so blood pressure can return to normal. But, high insulin will
cause you to excrete magnesium in your urine.
What does this have to do with high blood pressure? If your body is excreting
magnesium, the muscles in the blood vessels wont be able to relax and will stay
constricted, making your blood pressure remain high.
It will also lower the effectiveness of insulin, increasing the bodys need for more.
Check out this vicious cycle
1. High insulin causes insulin resistance.
2. Insulin resistance causes magnesium loss.
3. Low magnesium causes blood vessels to remain constricted, keeping blood
pressure high.
4. Low magnesium prohibits insulin from getting to tissues.
5. Lowered drive and effectiveness of insulin causes a need for more insulin.
6. More insulin causes more insulin resistance.
7. And the cycle continues.
To make matters worse, high insulin causes you to retain sodium. Sodium makes
you retain water. Water retention causes high blood pressure. High blood
pressure and fluid retention leads to heart disease and an early grave!

I say this because old age according to our genetic programming is supposed to
be at about 120 years. That is when the process of cell division is supposed to slow
down and stop.
So why do we, in our present day and time, age so quickly? Why do so few people
actually make it to their 120th birthday?
It is because were causing our cells to divide faster than they are programmed
to. This is a product of both genetic and environmental stressors. Your cells only
get to divide a certain number of times. When they are done, so are you!
So how does insulin contribute to this process?
1. A high carbohydrate/sugar diet causes there to be an increased level of
insulin in the bloodstream.
2. One of the many purposes of insulin is to stimulate cell division.
3. Higher levels of insulin will cause cells to divide more rapidly.
4. So high insulin levels increase the rate at which we age.
Now, our cells dont live to be 120 years old. Different cells have different life
spans. Liver cells live longer than red blood cells, skin cells live longer than
stomach cells, etc. So your cells are always dying and being replaced, every second
of every day.
To age at a normal pace, the cells have to divide according to their programming.
We do this, in part, by keeping our insulin levels low throughout life by adopting a
genetically sound lifestyle.
47
48
When your cells do any type of work, they can combine with either oxygen or
sugar. This is not a problem if the body is pure and well nourished. If it isnt, free
radicals can be produced which are toxic and poisonous.
However, there is a natural and magical remedy for these bad, nasty free radicals.
Inside these miraculous and delightful things called fruits and vegetables,
there are thousands and thousands of even more wonderful things called
antioxidants which counteract the byproducts of our cells doing work! They
actually destroy the free radicals which cause the body to break down.

test and test and test you when something is wrong. They have to find a diagnosis
to then know what drug to prescribe.
However, treating symptoms never brings about a state a health whether you do
it with drugs, supplements, vitamins, herbs, or specific kinds of food.
I know this is an unpopular notion because people dont want to think their health
is their own responsibility and that their lifestyle choices determine the outcome.
It is much easier to believe that we can eat, drink, and smoke whatever we want
and then just take a pill when we get sick because its genetic. This is the kind of
thinking we have to eliminate if we want to live disease-free.

This includes carbohydrates that from pasta, bread, rice, chips, diet bars,

52
What we are calling disease in these cases is just the body attempting to save
itself by altering body chemistry and function. The symptoms of such changes are
what the medical profession attempts to alter and normalize with drugs.
Unfortunately doing so does not, and will never, bring about a state of health.
There is a reason for our ailments. They do not occur by chance. And the way we
eat is a major problem and a major cause of the healthcare crisis in our families. It
is imperative that we get back to the basics and start eating according to our
genetic needs.

Remember, our genetic code hasnt changed in the last 40,000 years, so why do
we suffer from these kinds of illnesses while they did not?
Im sure youve heard of the fight-or-flight response (also called the stress
response) at some point in your life. It is a natural and healthy reaction to sudden
threats.
Lets say youre down by the river fishing for some dinner and off in the distance
you see a 300 pound drooling tiger creeping toward you and licking its chops.
Some very specific and necessary things happen in your body to get you ready to
either run away or defend yourself.
Pupils dilate
Heart rate increases
Heightened mental alertness
Breakdown of sugar stores into the bloodstream
Blood pressure increases
Blood and oxygen are directed to muscles and organs
Adrenaline is released
Cortisol is released
Digestion ceases
Immune system shuts down
Your body does all this to make sure you are in the best condition to fight or flee.
It basically shuts down every process that isnt needed for immediate survival, and
heightens the ones that are.
Congratulations! On this day you were able to outwit the beast, or perhaps
someone else in the tribe just wasnt as fast as you, but you lived to fish another
day. Once the stress is removed, all body processes return to normal. Heart rate
slows, digestion resumes, etc. This process is absolutely necessary to our
survival. It is completely natural and intelligent.

So you really get a double whammy here. Not only do the wrong kinds of food
contribute to insulin resistance, but so does your stress level.
Over a prolonged period, increased cortisol also leads to immune deficiency and
decreased bone density (osteoporosis).
Here is a list of other changes your body makes when the fight-or-flight response
is triggered.
2. Increased Stress Hormones
Catecholamines act on the heart to increase your heart rate when the stress
response is triggered. Along with vasoconstriction (tightening of the blood
vessels), stress hormones like adrenalin will increase blood pressure. Your body
does this so oxygen can be delivered to muscles and tissues more quickly and
effectively during conflict.
Stress hormones also inhibit factual learning, memory, and the ability to focus
(can you say ADHD?)
3. Increased Blood Sugar
As I stated before, your body needs energy during fight-or-flight, so your blood
sugar levels are increased to accomplish this.
4. Drop in Serotonin

5. Increased Cholesterol
This is to increase energy availability.

return the body to a state of homeostasis, insulin sensitivity, and efficient energy
usage.
Understand that exercise doesnt have to be done in a gym. Play with your kids or
grandkids, wrestle with them, play on the playground equipment with them,
climb a tree, have running races, go on a hike, dance around your house, the
possibilities are endless.
Have Fun
You cant be stressed out while youre laughing and doing something that makes
you happy. Laughter reduces stress, boosts immune health, and reduces cortisol
levels and stress hormones.
This is why engaging in our hobbies and making time for the things we
enjoy is so important. Its actually a necessity for wellness, so there is
your excuse to go do something fun.
Have Sex
Having sex relates to rigorous exercise and has the same effect. Of course, you
might not even have to go that far. The mere act of kissing has shown to decrease
cortisol levels in couples who lip-locked for 15 minutes.
Like we needed any more encouragement.

What is the medical response to all our health problems? Drugs and surgery,
which do not fix, cure, heal, prevent, or improve any illness or disease in
existence. We are committing suicide by our sedentary lifestyles and by what we
eat, think about, drink, and smoke, and using drugs to cover up the way in which
our bodies naturally respond to the assault!
If cells do not receive what they are programmed to need in order to express
health, they change. When they change, the body begins to alter blood pressure,
insulin levels, pH levels, cholesterol levels, hormone balance, etc.
This is why the current Western diet consisting of fast food, pizza, chicken fingers,
sandwiches, chips, diet bars, cookies, processed foods, cereal, etc. is so dangerous
to us.
62
63
If high insulin levels cause the body to turn off insulin receptors, what would
prompt the body to turn them on again?
Believe me, if we begin to make our cells pure and sufficient, they can
return to a state of normal function and growth rather than one of
protection. This means they can function normally in health as long as we
arent forcing them to adapt.
And they will if we keep insulin levels low!
You came from nature. You are a natural being. You live in nature regardless of the
steel structures around you. Therefore, you must eat things that come from
nature. Your body is genetically designed to thrive on foods that are natural and
everything else, regardless of what the media and food labels tell you, is a toxin to
which the body must adapt and remove.
You simply have to start providing your body with what it genetically needs to
function properly. You also have to avoid things that are toxic. Remember, there
are only two things that move a cell away from health, being deficient in
nutrients it needs or being toxic with unnatural, poisonous substances. This
pertains to the way we eat, the way we move, and the way we think.

according to what tastes good instead of what your body needs. This is all the
stuff that gave you diabetes.
I know all this is a lot to take in, and believe me it is a complex topic only because
our needs are actually much different than what we are taught. I would highly
recommend you not allow commercials and media reports to be your guide. Just
because they add Vitamin C to soda doesnt make it a health drink, and just
because they found antioxidants in dark chocolate doesnt make it a health food.

The answer to giving the body what it needs and ultimately eliminating disease is
in following the genetic programming that is innate to us all. Do this and watch as
your health is magically improved. You will be amazed how quickly it happens.
Note: Fruit sugar (fructose) is not metabolized in the body the same way as
glucose, so the advice that diabetics should avoid fruit is simply ridiculous and the
result of nutritional ignorance. No scientific studies have ever linked fruit to
disease.

Increasing Life
Life, on the other hand, is always expanding and always becoming. Grass grows,
flowers bloom, caterpillars become butterflies, and seeds produce trees of every
variety. Even when you are fast asleep, lying motionless, your body is active. Your
lungs are expanding, your heart is beating, cells are dividing, glands are producing
chemicals, and your brain is sending mental impulses over your nerves.
When one cell dies, it is replaced by another. If you cut your finger, your body will
repair it. And if specific cells between a man and a woman find each other, new
life will be produced.

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus said that you can never step into the same river
twice. The reason is that the river is always flowing and changing, but so are you.

of the components of genetic necessity and be healthy any more than you can
exclude water from plants and expect them to live. It is scientifically impossible.
If you are an inactive person, you have to begin where you are. Dont try and go
faster than your body can handle. However, eventually you must be able to get
rigorous exercise every day.

This is important whether you are overweight or not. You can still be a skinny sick
person. Physical inactivity increases the risk of diabetes in normal weight people
as well.
I could write volumes about the studies done regarding exercise and every single
disease you can name. The bottom line for diabetics is that insulin isnt being
regulated properly and it is the one hormone that either controls or somehow
coordinates every other hormone in the body.
High intensity work-outs also relieve stress (another major factor in Type 2
Diabetes as was explained in an earlier chapter), increase antioxidant levels (these
fight cancer and rapid aging), and strengthen the heart (a very important organ,
no?)
In order for physical training to be effective, however, you have to do the exercises
that maximize your genetic expression of health.

Falling out of an exercise routine is something everyone does. Dont beat yourself
up about it. One of the great things about life is that every morning you wake up is
another opportunity to begin again and make better choices. If you fail today, do
better tomorrow. If you fail tomorrow, call a friend who will help keep you
motivated and accountable. Better yet, get them to join you.
When it comes down to it, no one is going to exercise for you. Dont wake up a
decade from now wondering where the time went and wishing you would have
taken better care of your body. The only time you have to better your health and
life is right now, this moment.

couldnt care less about us and who will just say whatever is necessary so they can
keep their power and their million dollar titles. Nonetheless, there is a better way.
This body was given to me. It is my responsibility. There is no one else to look after
it and make sure it lasts a long, long time. The government wont do it, my friends
wont do it, and the current medical system is set up to wait until it breaks before
it can do anything. If I dont take control of my health, it will be in the hands of
others who simply want to profit from my illnesses and then Im in big, big
trouble.
The real issue here is one of personal responsibility. We have to let go of this idea
that we can do whatever we want, eat whatever we want, smoke and drink
whatever we want, because there is always a drug we can take or a surgery we
can have that will fix us when we break. We have to be conscious and aware that
the system fails because of abuse and neglect, not because of mysterious bugs,
bad genes, or bad luck.
For many that is a harsh and uncomfortable thing to hear, but its true. Maybe we
need some tough love to get back to making our health a priority. Maybe we all
need to hear someone say that its up to us. Maybe we need to come to the
realization that most of us dont guide our children correctly in the ways of health.
Most parents dont want to hear that their childs ADD is very likely the result of
their diet, stress levels, lack of exercise, or all three.
That would mean we have to start eating leafy green things and somehow getting
our kids to eat them too. That would mean getting off the couch and having some
family exercise time. That would mean spending more time and more money on
the things we need to be healthy. It would be a huge pain in the rear and require
much more effort and commitment.

Locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, farm raised and grass-fed beef, no more
drive-throughs, cooking meals at home, ugh! Sounds like a big hassle, and its
certainly more expensive and more time consuming.
But how expensive is a lifetime of drug treatments and surgeries? How much life
do we lose from painful procedures, relentless discomfort, lack of energy,
recurring illnesses, premature aging, and lack of autonomy? Which is truly the
drain on our lives?

Do you see anything wrong with people needing a new heart! This is not okay! It is
not normal. And I would like to keep the one I have, thank you very much, so Im
going to take care of it no matter how inconvenient, costly, or difficult.
If we allow insurance companies to determine how much care we need/receive,
we are all going to be very sick people. It is not their business to keep us well. It is
their business to make money for shareholders. Our best interest is not a part of
their consideration.
Health is simple folks. It may not be easy and convenient, but it is simple. I
personally am not going to wait to do the things I know are necessary for my wellbeing until I get sick and then am at the mercy of someone Ive never met whose
job it is to deny me care and save the company money.
It is my sincere hope that you do not wait either.

Extra Help
There are a few vital nutrients that humans simply dont get adequately any
longer because of our modern way of living. Almost every time I research a new
health problem, the deficiency component of their condition can be traced back
to one or all of these genetic requirements.
Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and just
about every other degenerative illness you can think of are no different. Our
needs are the same as our hunter-gatherer ancestors, but times have certainly
changed. For this reason, these 3 nutrients should be a part of nearly everyones
daily regimen for life.
Not all supplements are created equal. This is certainly one instance
where you get what you pay for. Supplements you buy at the supermarket
are mostly worthless and ineffective. Big companies dont put any
resources into creating a good product. All their money goes into
marketing.
Yes, supplements cost money, but so do cable TV, cell phones, and high-speed
internet access. The fact is that we all arrange our budgets for what we think is
important. The cost is nominal against what it affords you.

Essential fatty acids are another crucial nutrient. Our ancestors used to get these
when they ate wild game, but unfortunately in our modern times, we dont eat
wild game anymore.
It is true that certain types of fish are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, but
hardly anyone consumes the correct quantities or types of fish to be sufficient.

Probiotics
The majority of the immune system is located in the gut in the form of healthpromoting bacteria. Every time we consume antibiotics, processed grains (bread,
pasta, rice, cereal), processed sugar, alcohol, or simply dont eat a diet rich in
whole foods, we kill off a little more of the immune system and allow illness
promoting bacteria to take over.
As these bad bacteria flourish, you may notice bloating and indigestion,
digestive disease, bad breath and body odor, impaired immunity, frequent colds
and flu, vaginal yeast infections, Candida, asthma, acne, eczema, and dandruff.
Probiotic consumption has been shown to regulate autoimmune disorders and to
enhance immune function in already healthy people. There is also evidence that it
decreases the incidence of colon and breast cancer and normalizes cholesterol
levels.
If you have ever taken an antibiotic, ingested alcohol, or eaten processed
sugar or grains, and unless you consume large amounts of raw fruits and
vegetables as well, it is a virtually certainty that you are deficient in
probiotics.
To view the probiotic we recommend, visit our website by clicking this link.
It was created to model the types and amounts of bacteria we genetically require.
It is vegetarian and free from wheat, soy, and grain.
