Admissions Office
Massachusetts Institute of Technology

To whom this may concern,
I am applying for admission into your institution and I would like for you to consider me as a
potential candidate. I know you value academics, but also creativity and I believe that I am right for this
school. My skills include quick adaptation and learning of new knowledge as well as problem solving,
primarily in STEM related fields. I value hard work and effort and know that this must be present in
anyone to do well in their life. In general, I strive to gain new abilities and better prepare myself for
challenges later on in life.
Your institution is my dream college to attend. It is magnificent and brilliant, full of technology and
topics I never knew about such as the maritime museum in the Engineering College. The people Ive
worked with and known consider me intelligent and a great part of the team. This school is prestigious
and even if the students around me might be even better, it is still the best and I consider myself a great
candidate. If I fall back, I try even harder to reach the point where I surpass my peers and develop the
skills I need to stay on track.
I have said that I am a sagacious and crafty person, able to think quickly of ideas to improve the
current situation, whether its a difficult math problem to the question, How am I supposed to market a
lead block?. I am diligent, persistent, and resilient and will always give my best effort and not back
down from a challenge faced. Also, I have done prior programs that have allowed me to excel in the
subject I find the most interesting, mathematics and problem solving. After that experience, new and
important knowledge was gained and they can be applied to what I do now.
I hope you will consider me as a probable candidate for your institution and I would like greatly to be
an new freshman when my time comes. I absolutely believe you must take everything into account and if
you have any questions, dont hesitate to send me an email at: tony.y.tian@gmail.com. Thank you for
your time.

I look forward from hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Tony Tian
