    What are We Doing?

    Throughoutthesemester,youvelearnedmoreaboutthewritingprocess,howyouviewwriting,how
    tostarthelpingotherswiththeirwriting,andselectedanareaofwritingcenterscholarshipto
    specializeinandstartedresearchingit.Inyourfinalprojectforthissemester,youllbetakingyour
    specializationfromProject2astepfurtherandperformingyourownoriginalresearchfocusedonthe
    intersectionsbetweenyourspecializationandtheFSUreadingandwritingcenter.Youllbe
    developingaresearchquestion,developingmethodsforcompletingyourresearch,andactually
    carryingyourresearchoutandreportingonyourfindings.

    How are We Doing It?


    Inshortyoullwantto:
    1. ReturntoyourresearchfromProject2andthinkabouthowyourspecialtyareahasbeen
    definedinthescholarshipatlarge.
    2. DevelopaquestionregardingyourspecialtyandhowitmanifestsintheFSURWC.
    3. Developmethodsforhowtogettheanswertoyourquestion.
    4. Submitaproposaltomewithyourquestionsandmethods.
    5. CarryoutyourresearchplanperformingyourresearchintheRWC.
    6. MeshtogetheryourprimaryresearchinourRWCwiththelargerconversationshappeningon
    thistopicthroughsecondaryresearch.
    7. Writeapaperexplainingyourquestion,researchmethods,andfindingswhilediscussingthe
    implicationsyourresearchhasfortheFSURWC.
    8. Createapresentationthatexplainswhatyourprojectwas,andwhatyoufound,whichyouwill
    thensharewiththeclass.

    So, How Should I Approach This?

    Byfarthemostimportantpartofthisprojectisfiguringoutwhatquestion(s)toask,andwhatmethods
    willhelpyouanswerthatquestion.So,inshort,yourapproachtothisprojectshouldfocusoncoming
    upwithasuitablycomplexquestionyouwanttoansweraboutyourspecialtytopicfromProject2,and
    figuringoutwhatmethodswillbesthelpyoufindtheanswertothisquestion(surveys?interviews?
    discourseanalysis?statisticalanalysisoftheRWCsystems?etc.).Onceyouhaveaquestionand
    methodsdown,yourremainingtaskswillbecompilingyourfindingsandwritingareportonyour
    research,inadditiontosharingyourfindingswiththerestoftheclass.
