UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, DAVIS

ONE SHIELDS AVENUE
DAVIS, CALIFORNIA 95616

On March 11, 2016, you entered the fifth floor reception area of Mrak Hall and occupied the space beyond the close
of business hours. You have continued to occupy this space from March 11 through the present. As a University
Official, I am requesting that upon receipt of this notice, you vacate the fifth floor. Failure to comply with the
directions of a University official violates Section 102.16 of the University of California Policy on Student Conduct
and Discipline:
Section 102.16 prohibits Failure to identify oneself to, or comply with the directions of a University
official or other public official acting in the performance of his or her duties while on University property
or resisting or obstructing such University or other public officials in the performance or the attempt to
perform their duties.
In addition continued presence on the fifth floor also constitutes unauthorized entry to ...or use of University
properties and may also obstruct the administrative business of the University. This reported behavior, if
established, violates Sections 102.06, and 102.13 of the University of California Policy on Student Conduct and
Discipline:
Section 102.13 prohibits the obstruction or disruption of teaching, research, administration, disciplinary
procedures, or other University activities.
Section 102.06 prohibits the unauthorized entry to, possession of, or use of any University services,
equipment, resources or properties.
It is the Universitys preference that you leave the fifth floor voluntarily rather than sending a referral to the Office
of Student Support and Judicial Affairs (OSSJA). If you choose not to do so, then I will to send a report of
misconduct to OSSJA. Disciplinary consequences can range from a formal reprimand to probation, suspension or
dismissal. For more information about students rights and responsibilities, the student conduct process, or the
services that the OSSJA provides, visit OSSJAs website at http://sja.ucdavis.edu or contact the office by email at
sja@ucdavis.edu.
Please note that failure to identify oneself to University officials constitutes an additional violation of University
policy as provided in Section 102.16 above.
Sincerely,

David Lawlor
Vice-Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer
