Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

Learn to manage Photoshop layers while learning to blend images together smoothly,
using masks and filters. Apply appropriate typography.

Process:

I used Adobe to create an 8.5 by 11 inch format. After I choose the backgrounds, I
modified the color of the background to obtain the correct color I had chosen for the
color scheme. I used the lasso to cut out the tree and the young woman to ad to the
backgound in which I blended together. I continued the blending through the use of
the opacity and by creating a layer mask to soften the edges of the dropped in images.
I then chose to contrasting fonts that would compliment the images.

Program(s)/Tools:

Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Illustrator; and Adobe In-Design

Objectives:

Learn to manage Photoshop layers.

Learn to blend images together smoothly, using masks.
Use filters.
Apply appropriate typography.

Process:

I first began the process by sketching out ideas for a logo and layout of the brochure.
I took my sketches and designed a logo in Illustrator. The next step in the process
was to collect pictures to be used in the brochure. I edited the tree picture in
Photoshop. I wanted the tree to be a pop out and kept that in mind while I
designed the brochure in In-Design. After choosing an appropriate color scheme, I
incorporated some repeating patterns and elements to give it a cohesive feel.

Process:

I scanned the photo on a Brother scanner, printer, copier. I used Microsoft Word
to edit the photo and create the document. My focus was to make the text legible
while keeping the design rules of thirds. I choose a big split complementary to
complement the colors of the photo I choose to use in the event ad.

Program(s)/Tools:
Notepad++ and Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

To learn how to use HTML and CSS in creating an appealing web page.

Process:

I created this page in Notepad++ using an HTML and CSS page. I used my logo to
match the color to my web page. I did this by opeing up Photoshop and using the
eyedropper tool to acquire the hex# color numbers. I kept the background white.
To keep the logo and web page consistent, I used the same serif and san-serif fonts
used in the logo. I adjusted the padding and margins to reflect the correct spacing
needed to feature the logo.

Objectives:

Learn to manage Photoshop through editing a photo and creating a event ad.
Apply appropriate typography.

Process:

I started by preparing some sketches of my ideas about the subject of a tennis

tournament. I then did some research on previous tournament ads and events. I
choose a Triadic color scheme with the ability to pull in the blue and yellow from
tennis. I used a Cannon Rebel T1i camera. In Photoshop, I adjusted the image
levels, saturation, and color balance. I used the sharpen tool and experimented
with the other imaging tools, as well as the healng tool.
I used an 8.5 x 11 inch layout to create my design. I added my edited photo and
tehn ceated shapes including a cricle and rectangles. Using the brush tool with the
pen tool, I recreated the shape of the tennis ball. I used the dopper tool to maintain
the right color throughout the design.

Objectives:

Learn to manage Photoshop layers.

Learn to blend images together smoothly, using masks.
Use filters.
Apply appropriate typography.

Process:

For this project, I was aked to sketch four flier ideas and then choose one to design
on the compter in In-Design. I choose the sketch that seemed most unique from the
other ideas. I started with cutting the page in half on the diagonal creating a triangle.
I then copied and rotated to create two large triangles creating the background. I felt
the word Graduate was the best word to emphasize in the title while creating a
modern and business feel with the Arial font. I continued with the Aparajita font
to keep consistency with the body of the information with a left alignment. To
emphasize the Date-Place-Time, I used a right alignment in white using the varing
tones of black and white to help create a cohesive feel to the project.

with different fonts. I added more detail to the orginal design while making the
frosting look softer on the cupcake.
