Genesis

The Creation (of earth and of mankind) (1-2)

God created heaven and earth

Created day and night first day, created sky second day, created land and seas, plants,
morning and evening third day, stars, sun, moon on fourth day, water animals and birds on
fifth, land animals and humans on sixth day, seventh day rested.

Humans were rulers of everything, everything else was food.

Adam and Eve/The Garden of Eden/The Fall of Man (2-3)

Formed man from dust on ground and breathed into nostril the breath of life

Garden in Eden with good food

Tree of the knowledge of good and evil - cannot eat from it or he'll die

Took one of Adams ribs and made a woman

Were naked and felt no shame

Serpent convinced woman to eat a fruit from tree because it'll give them powers

Realized they were naked

God punished them by taking the snakes legs away, increasing pain in childbirth, has to grow
own food

Drove them out of garden of Eden

Cain and Abel (4)

Adam and Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel

Cain oered fruits to God, Abel oered fat portions

God favored Abel, Cain was jealous

Cain killed Abel, lied about his whereabouts

Cain received curse that he can't grow crops and be a restless wanderer

Received mark of Cain, whoever killed him received vengeance seven-fold

Went to live in land of Nod with wife and gave birth to Enoch

Seth (Adam and Eve's replacement son) was born and had son named Enosh

Man began to call to God.

Noah and the Flood (6-9)

Men married whatever women they chose

Limited age to 120 years old

God was going to wipe out the earth.

Earth was full of violence and corruption

Told Noah to build an ark and bring two of each animal and seeds onto it and his family

Flooded earth for forty days rained

Was flooded for 150 days

Sent dove out to find land, came back with leaf, when it didn't come back, he knew there was
land

Again, everything was food for them

Couldn't eat meat with blood still on it

Rainbow establishes how God will never flood the earth and kill everyone again (isn't that
lovely)

Canaan was cursed to be Shem's slave

The Tower of Babel (11:1-9)

Everyone spoke same language

Wanted to make tower that reaches to heaven

Made them speak dierent languages so they can't communicate and spread them over the
world

Abraham Intercedes for Sodom (18:16-33)

Abraham was found to have a powerful nation and he will be the leader

Sodom and Gomorrah were sinful

Was going to kill a whole city, but had 50 righteous people

Spares the city as long as there was someone righteous in it

Lot and his wife (19:1-26)

Two angels go to Sodom

Lot oered them a place to stay

The people of the town wanted to have sex with the Angels

Was under his protection, didn't want them to

Lord destroyed city, having Lot and his family leave

Fled to town of Zoar, commanded them not to look back

Lots wife looked back, became salt

Abraham and Isaac (21-22:19)


Abraham and Sarah had child Isaac
Abraham circumcised him at 8 days old
Abraham was 100 years old, when his son Isaac was born
Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian and got rid of her and her son
Hagar went to the desert of Beersheba to die but God saved them
Hagar found Beersheba a wife from Egypt
God tested Abraham to take Isaac and go to Morriah and sacrifice him there is a burnt oering
on the mountain
Abraham Built an altar and arrange the wood on it and was about to slay him but an angel
came and stopped him
Then Abraham went to Beersheba

Jacob and Esau (25: 19-34)


family line of Abraham's son Isaac
when Isaac was 40 he married Rebecca, daughter of Bethuel
gave birth to a pair of twins
Esau became hunter, Isaac favored him
Jacob stayed home in tents, Rebecca favored him
Esau sold Jake for some stew

Rachel and Leah (29-30)

Jacob goes to Poddan Aram


Jacob kissed Rachel and told her that he was a relative of her father and a son of Rebecca so
she went to tell her father
Jacob fell in love with Rachel so he worked for her father for seven years in exchange for her
Laban gave Jacob Leah, the oldest daughter, after the seven years and told him he had to work
another seven years to have Rachel
Lord gave her four sons (Ruben, Simon, Judah, and Levi)
Rachel demanded Jacob for the children or she'd die
Rachel gave birth to Dan

When Billhah for Jacob another son she named him Naphati
Leah gave Jacob her servant Zilpah and she and Jacob had another 6 sons
Leah finally had a daughter and then Rachel was able to give birth and gave birth to a son
Jacob and Laban agreed he can take any striped or spotted or black sheep or goat
Jacob got all the strong goats and sheep and Laban got all the weak ones

Joseph and His Brothers (37)

Jacob lived in Canaan


Joseph was 17 and tending the flocks with his brother and he tattle taled on them
Israel favored Joseph and spoiled him while all the other brothers hated him
told his brothers about his dream where he ruled over them
Another dream about the sun and the moon and 11 bushels starts bowing down to him
The brothers threw Joseph into a pit and sold him for 20 shekels
made Israel think that an animal killed Joseph by dipping his robe in goat blood

Exodus

Rescue of the Child Moses (1-2:10)

The Israelites were persecuted


Every hebrew boy would be tossed into the Nile river
A levite woman became pregnant with a boy and she hid him for 3 months
Then she put him in a basket and put it in the Nile
Then the Pharohs daughter found him and named him Moses saying that she drew him out the
water

The Burning Bush (3)

Moses saw burning bush that didn't burn up


He went to look at it and God spoke to him
God said he needed to free the people of Egypt
God sent Moses to rescue the Israelites and bring them to the hill of God to worship

The Plagues of Egypt (7-12)

Then finally when Moses was 80 and Aaron was 83 they spoke to Pharaoh
Aaron threw his sta down in front of Pharaoh and it became a snake
asked to free people, pharaoh didn't comply, turned Nile into blood
fish in the Nile died in the river and they couldn't drink the water
All the Egyptians dug alongside the Nile because they cannot drink the water
Then God sent a plague of frogs on Egypt
Pharaoh said to take the frogs away except for the ones of the Nile and he will let his people
go to oer sacrifices to the Lord

when all the frog died pharaoh still didn't comply


gnats were all over Egypt
flies poured into pharaohs palace and into the houses of his ocials
Pharaoh finally let his people go oer sacrifices to the Lord in the woods if Moses made all the
flies go away but after he still didn't comply
Then God brung a terrible plague on pharaohs livestock but God did not let the livestock be
plagued in Israel, still didn't let them go
plague of boils
God told Moses to sprinkle dust over pharaoh and it will become fine dust over Egypt and
boils will break out of people and animals throughout Egypt
Then God casted the plague of hail

God sent the worst hailstorm that had ever fallen in Egypt and any of the hail that fell on their
livestock and everything that had not been brought in would die except for Israelites.
Then pharaoh said he would let the people go if God stop they hail storm and when he did and
pharaoh still do not let them go
Then pharaoh said he would only let the men go worship
locusts,pharaoh still refused
Then God casted of the plague of darkness that lasted for three days until pharaoh said that
they could take the men women and children to worship but they had to leave their flocks
behind and Moses said no
That God casted the plague of the firstborn where the firstborn of every animal and person
would die and pharaoh still will not let the Israelites go out of his country
Then god did the Passover where the Israelites would have to slaughter the best lamb they had
and take the blood and put it over the top and the sides of the door frame and then they would
have to eat the meat at midnight till the morning and they were not allowed to leave the house
if they wanted to save their first born
Finally won all of the exception for Sporn had died Farrell finally let all the Israelites and their
flocks go to worship God

The Passage of the Red Sea (13: 17-20; 14)

God parted the Red Sea so Moses and the Israelites could run away from the Egyptians
Then the Red Sea stops parting and flowed over the Egyptians and their chariots
Throughout the trip in the Egyptian desert whenever the Israelites complain about not having
food or water God gave it to them in some form
Amalekite attacked the Israelites but as long as Moses had the sta of God's hands held up by
the Israelites would be winning
Moses his father-in-law Jethro helped Moses with dealing with the Israelites problems
Then God said whoever touches the Mountain is to be put to death until they hear the rams
horn sound

Judges

Samson Slays a Lion (14)

Samson found a girl to be his wife and brought his mother and father to meet her
tore a lion to pieces
Samson gave the man at his feast a riddle and when they cannot figure it out they threatened to
burn his wife's father's property down
he tore part of their homes and killed them all and took what they owed him

Samson destroys the Philistines (15)

His wife's father told Sampson to marry his other daughter instead

Philistines burned his wife and father in law

Samson killed most of the Philistines for revenge

He killed a thousand men with a donkey's jawbone

Samson and Delilah (16)

Samson fell in love with a girl named Delilah


The Philistine for Delilah if they found out what gave the Sampson powers and how to defeat
them they would give her 1100 shekels of silver

God told him not to tell anyone about the powers


He told her that if anyone ties him up with seven fresh bowstrings but have not been dried he
would become weak

When Delilah did this to him he broke free so she asked him again what she could do to defeat
his powers
This time you told her that if anyone ties him with the new ropes he would become as weak as
any other man, still didn't work
if she wove seven braids of his head into the fabric on the loom and tied it with a pin he would
come weak, but didn't work
finally he said if he cut his hair he would become weak, which worked
Philistines captured him they gouged out his eyes and took him to Gaza
In the dungeon his hair grew back when the Philistines called on him entertain many people he
destroyed the building and kill many more than when he was alive

1 Samuel

David and Goliath (17)

Goliath told Israelites to send someone man foreword and fight him fight him and if he is able
to kill him then come there subjects but if Goliath kills him the Israelites would become their
subjects and serve them
Whoever the Goliath would get great wealth and the kings daughter marriage and will except
it's family from taxes in Israel
David finally killed Goliath and cut o his head

1 Kings

Solomons Wisdom (3)


Solomon only asked for the death of his enemies so God gave him that and wealth and honor
as well
Solomon was the son of David
Two prostitutes were arguing over a baby and the king and show the kingdom that he had
wisdom from God to administer justice

Job

Prologue and Jobs First Test (1)

When queen Vashti did not show up to King Xerxes party they were going to kill her

Jobs Second Test (2)

Went theater a father or mother so she brought her cousin


She had to wear a bunch of cosmetics and perfume and go through many beauty treatments
The king was in love with Esther and made her queen

Jonah

Jonah and the Whale/Fish (1-2)

God commanded Jonah to preach to a sinful town, but he didn't want to because he was
scared

Jonah found a boat client support and sailed to Tarshish to flee from the Lord

God sent a great wind on the sea


Jonah told the crew to throw him into the ocean to calm it down

The lord provided Jonah with a big fish to swallow him


In the big fish Jonah prayed to God for 7 days
Then the fish threw up Jonah onto land

Matthew

Immaculate Conception (1:18-25)

Virgin Mary became pregnant through the lord and gave birth to Jesus

Mary and Joseph

Herod and the Wise Men (2)

Herod started to search to kill Jesus because he didn't want someone else to be worshiped
except for him
Then he gave orders to oil all boys under the age of 2

Asked wise men where he was

Mary and Joseph took another route back to avoid him


Herod died

Jesus Temptation in the Wilderness (4:1-11)

Jesus was led by a spirit into the wilderness


He was tempted by the devil
fasted for 40 days and 40 nights and the devil tried to tempt him into eating
The devil also tried to get him to commit suicide
Satan tried to get Jesus to worship him Jesus' teachings

Jesus Teachings (5-7)

Taught that no one can dim the light of God.

Told them to follow the law

Not to commit murder, adultery, divorce, break oaths, love your enemies, give to the needy, to
pray, to fast, not to worry, judge others, gave other examples of miracles

The Twelve Apostles (10)

Jesus called on his disciples and gave them the authority to drive out spirits and heal every
disease and sickness

John the Baptist Beheaded (14:1-12)

Herods birthday the daughter of herodias danced for the guests

This pleased Herod somuch that he promised to give her whatever she wanted and she said
the head of John

John's head cut o in prison and gave her his head

Jesus Miracles (feeding thousands, walking on sea, healing) (14:13-36)


He turned five loaves of bread into enough to feed five thousand
Jesus walked on water
Then Peter to walk on water but when he became afraid he started to sink
All who Jesus touched were healed

Denial (26)

Planned for Jesus to be crucified

Judas betrayed Jesus for silver

Last supper, goodbye to disciples, knew one of them betrayed him.

Jesus was arrested

Jesus and Pontius Pilate/Crucifixion (27)

Was mocked and made fun of

Wore a crown of thorns

Watched him carry the cross to his death

Nailed to cross

Died on the cross

Resurrection (28)

Three days after Violent earthquake, Angel of lord rolled stone away from tomb

Jesus came back to life

Woman witnessed, told everybody

Eleven disciples went to worship him on mountain

Said he would never leave them
