Thestyleforbotharchitectandinteriordesignchangedovertheyearstoadoptedpeople
desireandneeds.Forovercenturiesmanyhousesweredevelopedtosuittheclimateandneeds
offamiliesinvariousparts(Clois,E).Severalstylehadbecomepopularthatstylesnamesis
relatedtothestructuralshape.Americanstyleismostlythearchitecturalstylethatevolvedthat
NativeAmericanalongwithEnglish,Spanish,French,German,Dutchandmanyotherpeople
settledinNorthAmerica,contributewithvastnumberofarchitecturalstyle.Manytraditional
designcanprovidehistoricalbackgroundthatcanstillinfluencemanyotherarchitecttodays
home(Clois,E).Styleforbotharchitectureandinteriordesignchangedovertheyearsto
adoptedtowhatpeopledesireandneedsintheirdreamhome.
Thefieldofarchitectureisauniquewayforstudentsandevenyoungadultaswell.An
architecturalstyleisaclassificationofastructurebasedonitapperance,materialused,structural
anddecorativedetail,buildingtechniquesandartisticexpression(Clois,E).Theresomany
varietyoftraditionalstyletobeinspirefromtheSpanishColonialstyletoaGreekRevival.
GreekRevivalhaveamainfeatureforthisstyleisacoverentryoraporchwithclassical
columns,columnsoftendominatedthefacadeofthebuilding,givingittolooklikeGreek
temple,anotherfeatureisthehousehavingawidebandtrimthatwouldseparatetherooffrom
themainbodyofthehouse.FortheSpanishColonial,theSpaniardswereinfluencedbythe

AmericanarchitectureandhadcombinewithNativeAmericantechniquewiththeirownto
createSpanishColonial(Clois,E).Theyhadbuiltmostoftheirhouseswithadobebrickor
rubberstone,bothstyleinspiredmanyotherarchitectandinteriordesignertodesignuniques
housesorevenapartmentthathaveasimilarstructuralstyletoit.Therearesomanytypeof
architectoutthereinthefieldsuchas:residentialarchitect,landscapearchitect,commercial
architect,andmore.Residentialaredesignerthatliketodesignhouses,cottage,anythingfor
peoplelivingcondition.Landscapearchitectarepeoplethatlikedesignfieldforthecommunity
orforprivateclientsgivingthemanamazinglandscapeviews.Andcommercialarchitectare
peoplethatdesignbuildingforthecommunitysuchasbanks,hospital,storesandeven
restaurant.Givingitasitetolookateverytimepeopleentertheplace.Architectisthebest
careerforpeoplethatwouldloveexpressthemselvesinhousesdesign.
Interiordesignorinadifferentterminteriordecoratorisanotherinterestingcareerpath
foranyonethatwouldliketofocusondesigningtheinsideofprivatehome,publicbuilding,
businessandeveninstitutionalfacilities,suchasoffice,restaurant,stores,hospitals,hotelsand
movietheaters(Sav,J).Interiordesignersmakeinteriorspacesfunctional,safe,andbeautiful
bydeterminingspacerequirementsandselectingdecorativeitems,suchascolors,lighting,and
materials(Sav,J)Theyreadblueprintsandmustbeawareofbuildingcodesandinspection
regulations,aswellasuniversalaccessibilitystandards(Sav,J1).Mostlyhowinteriordesigner
workisthattheygetcreatedintheirwaybutalsofittowhattheclientsdesireintheirvisionas
well.Whenitcometodesigntoinsideofthebuilding,manydesignerfocusthebuildingimage
andusethatinspirationtocreatewonderfulsetoneachsectionofthehousetomakeitunique.

andmostlytheirworkareaisinthecomfortoftheirownhome.Architectareinchargewhenit
comedesigningfloorplans,sitesplans,roofplans,electricfloorplan,andevencheckthe
plumbingplanaswellmakingsureeverythingisuptocodetomakethehousesuitablefor
anyonetoliveinandseewhatmaterialaresuitabletoconstructforthehouse.Forinterior
designer,theirresponsibilitiesinvolvesmeetingwithclientstodiscussdecoratingneeds,room
layoutplans,andthefunctionalityofaroomorbuilding(Trucker,K).Afterdiscussingwiththe
client,nowtheywillhavetomapoutthefloorplanandhavetodeterminethespacingthefloor
planwillandwouldhavetoworkwithit.Theywillusesoftwaretoseesomecolorpatternand
visualofhowitlooklikeafterplacingfurnitureandotherstuff.Interiordesignerpurchases
furnishings,schedulesdeliveryandcoordinatesinstallation.Eventhoughtheowneris
responsibleforthecostassociatedwiththepurchasesandservices,interiordesignersare
responsibleforthelegworknecessarytogettheitemsordered(Trucker,K).Butwhatmajor
aboutpurchasingthefurnishingsisthatthemeasurementtomakesurethattheappliancesuchas
couch,tvandcoffeetableabletofitthethespacingarea.Botharchitectandinteriordesigner
carrymajorruleswhenitcomedesigningthehouseandmakingsureituptocodeandwhatthe
clientwantintheirvisions.

Inreview,beinganarchitectoraninteriordesigngottohavepatientswhenitcome
workingonthedesignsforanybuildingsordealingwithreallystrictandannoyingclients.They
willdiscusswithclientstoseewhatwouldtheylikeintheirhousehold,retail,hospitality,office
spaceorevenmovietheater.Afterdesigning,theyneedtomadesurethattheyhadmeetupwith
healthcodewithsomepeopleandforinterior,thattheyhadmanagedtomapoutallthespacing
areaandputallthefurnishingintheplacesthatfit.Thisishowarchitectureandinteriordesigner
dowhenitcomedesigningnewestmodelsofbuildingtocatchpeople'sinterestnowanddays.
