History 1700
History 1700
I have always been interested in American history, and this class has
been really helpful to me. Ive learned a lot about the American history,
about the way the American civilization has evolved since the first contact
with Europeans to nowadays. Before coming to America I didnt know too
much about their history, because where I came from we dont learn too
much about America. Usually in my country we learn more things about
Europe and Asia or only about our culture, but all I learned about the United
States of America was how it had been discovered, who discovered the land,
and what roll the Americans played during the World War II. However,
throughout this semester I learned more than I thought I would learn. We
started the history of United States from the beginning, we learned about
how it had been discovered by Christoph Colombus an Italian explorer,
navigator, colonizer and citizen of the Republic of Genoa who was under the
auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain, he completed four voyages
across the Atlantic and was working for Spain.
Christoph Colombus reached the New World in 1492, he named the
land where he reached San Salvador. During his journey Christoph
colombus visited many Antilles, as well as the Caribbean coast of Venezuela
and Central America. Thinking that he reached the land that he was aiming

in his journey, Christoph colombus called the people, who were living on that
land, Indies.
I learned too much about the American history throughout this
semester, and my professor was so nice and decent. He always told us the
truth about what we have to do if we needed to succeed this Class.
