I believe that all students can learn. I believe in specified instruction for all
students. I believe in setting all my students up for success, by making all goals high and
achievable. I believe it is never too late to make a difference in a students life.
Students will engage in an education that is challenging, empowering and
developmentally responsive in my classroom. This means that I, as their teacher, and
students will be engaged in active and purposeful learning. I want to have a shared
vision of success between my students and me so that we are always working towards
a common goal. Students will be a to be a leader in their own education where they
gradually move away from the teacher and become responsible for their own
learning. I believe in teaching students how to learn instead of just teaching students
what to learn. Students will be engaged in learning their whole lives and by teaching
them how to adapt to new information, I believe I will help them be better prepared
for the real world.
I believe my job as a teacher does not just end with the content I will be teaching
students. I will be an adult advocate for my students, which will translate into actions
big or small for students instead of just an attitude of caring. Students need an adult
in school that will assume special responsibility for that students academic and personal
development, and with this trust I can create instruction that is relevant and
effective. Students learn best in a safe and caring atmosphere that is supportive of
all. Success for all students is the heart of my teaching philosophy.
Families and parents, I want to work as a team where your childs success
is the focus in everything we do. Your child is at such a pivotal part of their
life and I am so excited to share this journey with you. I believe supporting
your child and encouraging them to be the best person they can be is such a
vital part of the learning process, in and out of the classroom.. Though your
student is growing up and becoming more independent, your support at this
stage in their education is more necessary than ever. You can demonstrate
your interest in your students education by asking them what they learn in
school everyday and encouraging them to find meaning in their own lives
from it. Acquiring knowledge out of the classroom is as important, if not
more sometimes, as acquiring knowledge inside a classroom, which is why I
challenge you to be my partner this year in your childs learning. I want you
involved in your childs education, so I will always keep you informed with
what is happening in my classroom with newsletters and weekly emails. I want to help you celebrate your
child for who he or she is and help them discover things they are passionate about.
I will always respect you and your student, and value all the diversity you will bring to my
classroom.
