Public Service Announcement:

Earthquakes: Occurring at a
plate boundary near you!
Warning! Earthquakes can occur in any
type of plate boundary: Convergent,
Divergent, or Transform. While we
associate earthquakes with Transform
boundaries, such as the San Andreas
Fault, that is not always the case. They
can occur wherever a plate boundary is
under a great deal of stress. When the
stress builds up, over a period of many,
many years, that stress is Potential
Energy. When the stress builds up
enough, the potential energy transforms
into the kinetic energy of an
earthquake! For more information on
the safety tips during an earthquake,

when an Earthquake strikes near
you!
