Recycling is the process in which all waste

becomes other material for reuse. This is
done to reduce the use of raw materials
that would have been used. Recycling
also uses less energy and great way of
controlling air, water and land pollution
(What is waste recycling?, n.d.).

This situation has given us foot to create a

website, which we are inviting you to
participate and explore the benefits of
recycling, whether it be for your
community, country, or for the world we
live in.

The purpose of this would be to raise

awareness, educate, and inform that
recycling is something important and more
than that needed for Puerto Rico.

Lack of interest and knowledge on the

peoples behalf.
Communities not having the proper
disposal systems and no information o
where they can dispose of materials that
they may have accumulated.
Damage to the air, water and terrain
qualities because of the filling ups
landfills.
Deforestation.

Every problem has a

solution. RECYCLING
already is a solution to an
extensive problem.

Have more representatives exposing the

reason why recycling is needed, the
benefits of recycling and inspiring them to
make a change.
Create programs which could have
leaders to arrange disposal methods,
pickups and adequate areas with proper
disposal bins.
Making items reusable.
Reduce or eliminate the unnecessary
waste of paper.

The gradual deterioration of the

environment has increased. Puerto Rico
residents have not always been to inclined
to recycle, perhaps due to a lack of
education on the importance of doing so,
or simply for a lack of proper disposal
facilities on where to take their paper,
glass and plastic waste (Kantrow 2014b).

With hopes and aspirations of making

Puerto Rico, a better one for future
generations and more importantly, a better
world, we must create significant
awareness to increase recycling methods
in our communities. This is what we plan
to expose with our informational website.
Were searching for all of the people,
regardless of age, willing to make a
change in their lifestyles. This change will
hopefully have a positive effect in the
future for our qualities of life and for the
sake of this underappreciated planet.
Even if it means that one person is willing
to make a change, we believe that shall
be enough to inspire others.
