Attendance:

Each student is required to be present in class every school day.

Each student is required to come on time and prepared for class (textbook, paper, & 2 writing instruments).
Each student is required to remain in class for the entire class period (bell-to-bell, or as announced by the
teacher). Students are expected to take care of their restroom, drinking water, locker, or other needs before
class. We practice the 15 minute rule every day.

Participation:

Participation in class discussions and activities is required for all students in order to increase learning.
No points are taken off for: incorrect answers, incorrect grammar, or incorrect pronunciation.

Homework:
Starting with the first week of school, there might be homework given to all of Ms. Andersons students. Homework is
usually not given on Fridays.
Homework covers topics discussed that week in class and questions preparing students for upcoming weekly quizzes,
9-week tests, and the end of year assessment (English 9).

Turn your homework in as soon as you walk in to the correct box.

Late homework may be turned in through Friday of each week with 10 points off. After Friday, 30 points will be taken
off no matter when you turn it in, so the highest grade you can get is a 70.

Makeup Policy:

Students must request and complete make-up for missed work (for excused absences only).
Make-up is available after school at 2:00 p.m. by appointment.
Make-up is available for missed: class work, quizzes, 9-week tests, homework, and some alternative
assessments or projects.
If a student misses class due to own choice (for example: skipping, talking, sleeping), s/he loses the right to
make up that days work.
If the student does not complete make-up work, then the student earns 0 points for all missed work.
Students can retake a weekly quiz or 9-week test for a better grade if below 75%.

Disciplinary Class Rules:
