TCBJ Convention Scholarship


The Twin Cities Black Journalists chapter is offering several $300 scholarships
to help college students and recent graduates in the Twin Cities and Greater
Minnesota area attend the National Association of Black Journalists and
National Association of Hispanic Journalists Convention and Career Fair in
Washington, D.C., that will take place August 3 7, 2016.
Thousands of journalists, media executives, public relations professionals,
and students are expected to attend to network, participate in professional
development sessions and celebrate excellence in journalism.
The scholarship will cover the cost of convention registration for student
members. Recipients will be responsible for their own travel and
accommodations. The convention's early registration deadline is June 1, but
students will still be able to register on-site. Register for the convention online
at www.nabjnahj.com. In addition to the scholarship, students will be matched
with professional journalists from TCBJ who will serve as mentors.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a college student, recent graduate who currently resides in Minnesota
Must have an interest in journalism as a career
Must be able to attend at least 3 of the 5 days of the convention
