Terminating and Repeating

Terminating decimals
A Terminating decimals is a fraction that you turn into a decimal.A
terminating stops and does not repeat. For example a terminating fraction
that you turn into a decimal that terminates is because that turned into a
decimal is .50 it stops.Another example of a terminating decimal is .Why
because is equal to .25 and that terminates.

Repeating decimals
A repeating decimal is the opposite of a terminating decimal in a way because a
terminating decimal stops and a repeating decimal does not stop it repeats and
just keeps on going and so for a example a fraction that is repeating is because
that equals .3 repeating and that is the difference between a repeating and
terminating decimal.

a half
is equal to .50 and it terminating
2/2 is equal to 1
any half is just equal to .5 so each half just add .5

a third
is equal to .3 repeating which is a repeating number
is equal to .6 repeating which is also a repeating number
3/3 is equal to 1
all the thirds are equal to .3 repeating and so every time you add a third you add a
.3 repeating

a fourth
it is equals to .25
2/4 it is equal to .50
it is equal to .75
4/4 it is equal to 1
they all are terminating and if you add to anything you are adding a decimal of .
25

a fifth
a fifth is equal to .2
is equal to .4
is equal to .6
is equal to .8
5/5 is equal to 1
All of these are terminating

a sixth
is equal to .16 repeating
2/6 is equal to .33 repeating
3/6 is equal to .5
4/6 is equal to .6 repeating
is equal to .833 repeating

6/6 is equal to 1

they are all repeating except 3/6 because that is half and 6/6 cause that is 1

1/7 a seventh
1/7 is equal to .14285714

2/7 is equal to .28571429

3/7 is equal to .42857143

4/7 is equal to .57142857

5/7 is equal to .71428571

6/7 is equal to .85714286

8/8 is equal to 1
they are all repeating and all of them are irrational

a eighth
is equal to .125

2/8 is equal to .25

is equal to .375

4/8 is equal to .5

is equal to .625

6/8 is equal to .75

is equal to .875

8/8 is equal to 1

all the eighths are terminating cause they all stop.

1/9 a ninth
1/9 is equal to .1 repeating

2/9 is equal to .2 repeating

3/9 is equal to .3 repeating

4/9 is equal to .4 repeating

5/9 is equal to .5 repeating

6/9 is equal to .6 repeating

7/9 is equal to .7 repeating

8/9 is equal to .8 repeating

9/9 is equal to 1
All of these numbers are repeating because they don't stop and they repeat.

1/10 a tenth
1/10 is equal to .1

2/10 is equal to .2

3/10 is equal to .3

4/10 is equal to .4

5/10 is equal to .5

6/10 is equal to .6

7/10 is equal to .7

8/10 is equal to .8

9/10 is equal to .9

10/10 is equal to 1

they are all terminating because they all stop and those are the different types of
numbers and if they are terminating or repeating

The End
