water runs underground
neither plants nor animals can live on it, only bacteria in
water
certain grape species survived underground = staple crop
200 humans
strong crystal found in some mountains of the planet, used
for dome material

Introduction to Nova Terrae(Cont...)

domes keep out toxic atmosphere
enter/exit through airtight room with special suit
detoxification process when re-entering
tunnels connect different domes
low crime-rates
the people brought along tools, some other materials(
metal, wood), seeds for farming, and tree seeds for wood
also brought a few solar panels

Air Filtration Systems - Angela

Surface of Dome:
Webbed/semipermeable
surface to allow
specific particles
through

TOXIC ATMOSPHERE
Center of Dome

Sides of Filtration System:

Equally distributes chemicals
from the base throughout the
surface of the dome
(sprinkler-like function)

Base of Filtration System:

Holds chemicals that counteract/
cancel out toxic chemicals in
atmosphere, making air safe for
humans & animals

CLEAN ATMOSPHERE

Very tiny holes

all arounD the
dome surface
allowing the
oxygen to come AIR PARTICLE: BEFORE
through

AIR PARTICLE: AFTER

Watering Systems and Solar Panels - Shelja

*Water flows below the surface = underground water reservoirs

Use wells to gather water

At least 2-3 wells in each dome
Solar panels located outside the domes, energy used for in the domes(air
conditioning, electrical appliances, etc)

Solar Panel System

sun
Sunlight is
projected
toward solar
panels

SOLAR PANELS

Solar panels convert

sunlight into electricity,
providing for the
domes.
