MY IDEA

My Idea
(filmed in first person perspective with a gopro/ hand held camera and then filmed from the
third person perspective)
Speed: Sped up at points when theyre having fun.
Avicii Broken Arrows

Boy is happy with his father at home

His father finally gets called off to go to war - we watch the phone call and see his sons
reaction
Boy gets really emotional and argues with his father begging him not to go
Boy watched father go into the barracks
Boy breaks down when he gets home and hes alone.
He prays to the heavens for a solution completely breaking down.
Magically somewhere else, an angel appears in the form of a girl. Who has no idea who
she is or how shes human, she searches for her wings and doesnt find them.
She begins to walk to where the boy lives knowing that shes there to love him
She accidently comes across the boy pretending to ask for directions
She then makes the boy laugh and cheers him up
The guy decides to ask the girl out on a date, and they talk and laugh as theyre
walking.
At the end of it, they look deeply into each- others eyes like they love each other.
The girl is with the guy and theyre having a nice time, shes taking his mind off things.
The boy then gets a phone call and he crumbles to the ground because his fathers
gone missing - during the sad quiet part of the song.
The angel then looks up to the heavens and she spontaneously decides to take him on
an adventure and they go and then a montage of them having fun begins to happen
The girl grabs his hand and it fades to black in the build up
Then suddenly theyre riding horses together
They go out for dinner and have fun
They go bowling and record it
Go down to the beach with a group of friends and stay there till it is dark.
They go swimming and surfing
They go driving in the car
They have a party with their friends
Theyre naughty and they break into an area and then they sit and have a picnic.
Eventually the boy is at home with the angel and the boy is looking upset alone in a
room, the angel calls him through to another room and his father is waiting there for
him, then it fades to black.

I will have multiple

different outfits in my
production for all the
actors, the choice is
theirs what they wear but
it has to be summery and
bright.
The multiple different
costumes and outfits will
clearly suggest this is
meant to be set over a
period of a month or so.

What are the conventions

of music videos from this
genre?
The main convention of a
dance Music video is
camera angles and shot
variety. Actors will play
passionately and happy.
The usual style of a
dance music video is to
pan the camera around a
light beautiful setting
while the actors are
centred in it. In my music
video Ill be playing
emotional side of the
song and the actors by
choosing a sensible
location.
My Music video will
consist of acting out over
a long period of time in
the life of being
depressed but finding
love the effect of this
gives the audience a
relatable and interesting
insight into their lives.
How will you provide
something unique for our
production company?
I will have a new take on
the emotions of a
depressive and finding
positives and negatives
in all situations flicking
backwards and forwards
between happiness and
sadness.

Lyrics
"Broken Arrows" Ringtone to your Mobile
"Broken Arrows"
You stripped your love down to the wire
Fire shy and cold alone outside
You stripped it right down to the wire
But I see you behind those tired eyes
Now as you wade through the shadows that live in your heart
You'll find the light that leads home (home, home)
Cause I see you for you and your beautiful scars
So take my hand, don't let go
Cause it's not too late, it's not too late
I, I see the hope in your heart
And sometimes you lose and sometimes you're shooting
Broken arrows in the dark
But I, I see the hope in your heart
I've seen the darkness in the light
The kind of blue that leaves you lost and blind
The only thing that's black and white
Is that you don't have to walk alone this time
We have to tear down the walls that live in your heart
To find someone you call home (home, home)
Now you see me for me and my beautiful scars
So take my hand, don't let go
Cause it's not too late, it's not too late
I, I see the hope in your heart
And sometimes you lose and sometimes you're shooting
Broken arrows in the dark
But I, I see the hope in your heart
It's not too late, it's not too late
I see the hope in your heart

Sometimes you're losing, sometimes shooting

REPRESENTATION

How will your visuals

relate to the song?
(Illustrate, Amplify or
Disjuncture)

My visuals will be an
interpreted so it will be a
physical representation
of all the lyrics in the
song. The song will be
edited to the beat in parts
and each scene will have
a matching narrative to
the lyrics being played in
the background.

MEANING OF THE
SONG
Does the song have a
meaning? If so, what is
it?
During the first part of
the song, the song is
about
loneliness/depression or
an extremely hard time in
life.
The song makes it seem
as if this has been going
on for a long time
The next lines just
expresses a feeling of
utter and complete
loneliness, it also
conveys that nobody
cares that he's alone.
Then the chorus comes
which is a build up to a
dance solo which is
simply beats, this is
where Ill place my
montage.
