3.1 Access the benefits of team working for the above mentioned organization.
3.2 Discuss with relevant example how working in a team as a leader would
differ from working as a team member. Your answer should include working
towards specific goals, dealing with any conflict or difficult situations during the
recruitment and selection process of new lecturers.
A team leader for an organization, they have to take the responsibilities to be handled
toward the overall achievement of any goals. A team leader has to assure that they
have a smooth flow of communication with their members. They are also monitors
that have to arrange all the information or suggestion that has been provided from
each member to ensure that they can accomplish the task. For example, a leader must
provide some kind of resources which can assist on what to notice for in the
evaluation about the resumes in hiring a new lecturer when the recruitment process is
in progress.
As one of the team member, they have to encourage each other in anytime. If a team
without any courage, they will have more and more conflicts happened among them.
They may keep quarrel on unnecessary problems to each other or ignored each other
if any conflicts happened before. For instance, if team members have conflicts when
the recruitment is in progressing, they will be sensitive for picking fault with their
team members and wasting time on having meaningless argument.
Moreover, members will work together by following their leader orders to achieve a
specific task. The team members will share their ideas to each others and collaborate
all the guidelines that given by their leader to finish their task. For example, the team
members will discuss with their own members about what is the best solution or best
suggestion when the recruitment process is in progressing to their leader.
Furthermore, miscommunication is also the major causes for conflicts that occurring
within the members of the same team itself. Actually, conflicts can occur when some
of the dissatisfaction happened among team members. So, as a team leader, he should
understand how avoid the reasons for any occurrence of the conflicts. As a leader, he
should respect all the opinions which come from the team members. Sometimes,
members will only listen to the order of solving where they do not have to make any
judgement. For example, if there is none of the interviewers to follow up the
recruitment, the members will discuss with the leader for the problems that met by
them and solve it by using the best solution.
Team members must also know how to gather the information for their leader. The
team members should do lots of research from internal and external to ensure that
they can provide the most useful suggestion to their leader. For example, the members
will provide many suggestion of the recruitment to their leaders to choose it.
So, to be a leader in an organization, he or she must have the ability on solving any
problems without hesitation. He must solve the problems through a professional ways
to ensure that his team members are satisfied with his problems solving solution.
Leader should have the ability on making any decisions when any problems happened
suddenly. For example, when the recruitment is in progressing and there is no one
come for interview. So the leader has to find a best way to fill up the empty place of
the lecturer in a short period.
Lastly, to be a leader, he or she must provide the useful suggestion or information to
his team members to ensure that they can accomplish a task. After he provides the
suggestion to his team members, he should have a discussion with his team members
and make the best final decision. For example, the leader has to find out what is the
best way to select the best lecturer to fill up the empty position when the recruitment
is on-going.
3.3 Suggest how you review the effectiveness of the team in achieving the goals.
A group of people work together in the teams form effectiveness in the way on
achieving their organizational goals. Teams in order to improve the effectiveness of its
performance have been developed and sophisticated training. Therefore, the storm
levelled and all stages of implementation and should be treat with caution. So, a team
member performance may highly affect the organizations performance. For example,
the team members discuss the way to select the right lecturer for the right position
whiles the recruitment in on-going with their leader.
Along with team formation, feedback should also be given importance. It helps in
knowing the flaws and the reasons for the current performance of the team. A proper
training, counselling and mentoring based on the feedback can be helpful in
improving the effectiveness of a team. It is also important that every member of the
team is equally participating to complete the task assigned. Along with that each
member should always focus on the vision of the organisation hence motivating them
to perform better. For example, the team member will share out their opinions or
suggestion to their team members to ensure that they can make the right decision
when they are analysis the recruitment. This is turn results in improving the
performance of overall team helping to achieve the goals of organisation.
Conflicts may be one of the major reason in affecting the overall effectiveness and
performance of a team. Hence internal and external conflicts should be wisely
handled and often being avoided. Allotment of roles and task to each member of the
team is very important. Each member should be allotted those tasks only in which
he/she could excel which should be done by careful observation of educational
background of the employee. For example, each member can understand their
members background before they start works together so that they can be more
understand about their members ability on any task. Along with task allocation, a

ideas when they are making decision for the recruitment compare to 2 people in one
group. Working conditions or the environmental factors also requires consideration
for successful achievement of goals. For instance, if the working environment is clean
and relax, it can cause the team members to make a better decision to achieve the
specific goals.
4.1 Explain 3 factors that involved in planning the monitoring and assessment of
work performance for the new lecturers.
Performance assessment helps in understanding how to work and lead people to
achieve the goals. Each of the works and the task have different kind of differentiating
parameter hence the factors will be involving in the way when they planning and
monitoring the assessment to achieve higher performance. It also can be consider as a
tool for knowing many types of skills which is motor skill, process skills,
communication skills and even interaction skills.
So, the first factors are assertiveness or motivation. It is a degree to which the team
member pursues goals with commitment and takes pride in accomplishment. The
team members should takes initiative eagerly and also demonstrates orientation to
ensure that it can achieve the results. For example, the team members should make a
practical for their final decision to ensure that there will not any mistake happened
when the recruitment is on-going. For planning, it important to know about the
process that is undertaken to complete the work. Factors that are influencing the
achievement of the work with respect to the time are also involved in planning. If any
training was undertaken, its objective and influencing factors of the work performance
are also considered for the assessment work performance for the new lecturers. For
example, the team member which is the new lecturer should have some training from
their leader to ensure that they can have efficiency work performance.
However, for an effective organization, all of the works or task must be monitored by
the leader when the team members are on the way to achieve the task. So, there are
some factors that involved in the monitoring process which is the time for
measurement for the work performance the feedbacks that collect from the team
members from the organizations and the step toward in reaching their specific goals.
For example, the team members which is the new lecturer should set a specific period
of time for themselves to achieve the task that given by their leader.
So, from these factors we can see that planning and monitoring is really important for
a team member on their work performance. Other than that, considerations are also
one of the important assessments too. It is depends on the pattern of the work for
every task, hence there will be some variation on its assessment procedures.
Otherwise, the management skills are also important factors that involved in planning
the monitoring and assessment of work performance for the new lecturers. It means
that the extent to which the team members demonstrates the effective management
abilities and also the overall results. If the team members have the good management
skills, they will be more effectively sets goals and established the priorities. For
example, the team members can set a target for themselves to achieve in a short
period and it shows that they are effective on achieving a goal.
4.2 Make a plan to assess the development needs of individuals and how to
implement it.
periodic training, periodic counselling and small workshops may also be proving
fruitful in an organisation. Some of the lectures may not perform well on giving the
knowledge and skills to their students. Sometimes they may not reach their students
expectation in some of the subjects. So, to overcome these problems, Disted will give
some training class to the lectures to ensure that its can helps them to improve their
knowledge and skills on teaching. For example, Disted will teach the lectures for how
to solve the problems and what is the best way to decrease the mistake in every
situation.
4.3 Evaluate the success of the assessment process. Describe how you assess the
success of the assessment process with respect to identifies goals.
As we know, the assessment process of the employee or the team members is really
effective to an organizations and its may affect the performance for an organization.
For Disted College, the assessment process that they used to evaluation the Disted
lecturers performance was really effective. Disted College have encourange the
lecturer and lead them work for success to the organization after they found out the
needs and wants of every individuals. Disted have provide a briefly explanation to
the lecturer before they start the assessment. For instance, Disted have provide a
speech for explaining the overall of the assessment so that the lecturer can
performance well in their job.
To ensure that they assessment process will be effective, Disted have listed out all the
purpose and goals that must be achieve by every lecturer in Disted. For example, the
aim of the assessment is the lecturer must have the ability on transferring their
knowledge and the skills to the students. So, to measure the assessment of the lecturer,
the human resources department of Disted make a survey on Disted Student Plus for
evaluate the performance of the lecturer through the students. If the survey results are
good, then the lecturer will get a have a good assessment results. If the survey result is
bad, then Disted will provide more training to the lecturer to ensure that they can
achieve the assessment. Through this survey, it can helps the lecturer to understand on
their own strength and can improve their weakness to ensure that they can achieve
higher assessment in future.
However, the assessment is actually effective in Disted which is free from bias. So,
what is free from bias? It is known as an unbiased which is not show in purposely
against an individual. After Disted College finished the survey, they will gather the
entire lecturer in work in Disted and shows them the overall result that collects from
the students survey. From there, the lecturer will get to know what should they do for
their further improvement and it can help the lecturer be more successful on their
future growth. So, as a conclusion, an successful assessment process must be
including the free from bias so that it can lead the lecturer to get higher success of the
assessment process of the lecturer.
