Radioscopy

- Radioscopy is a nondestructive testing

technique that uses penetrating radiation
to produce images viewed during
irradiation.
- Radioscopic imaging and real time
radiography mean the same as radioscopy
- Traditional radiography uses film as the
imaging medium, radioscopy uses as
fluorescent screen to convert radiation to
light for direct viewing or electronic
imaging.
- Fine grain, thinner coatings provide higher
resolution but lower light output
- Light efficiency is lower for higher energy
radiation

- Developer; When radiographic film is
exposed to ionizing radiation, an invisible
image (called a latent image) is formed in
the emulsion layer of the film. The process
of converting the latent image to a visible
image is called development, and a
developer solution is used in this process.
