Title : 5 water color layer

1. Problem : how to separate different water layer colour with salt

based on density concept?
2. Hypothesis: the layer with more salt that dissolves in it will sink more
(more density) and the layer with least salt dissolves will
float(lower density). Add the least density to the higher density and it
will be separated because it has different density so it will not mix.
3. Materials:

salt 500 g,

food coloring (blue, red, yellow, green, orange)

,
water as much as possible

4. Tools :
1 spatula
,1 dropper,
1 petri dish,
2 measuring cylinder 100ml,
1
electronic balance,
5 beaker glass 150 ml
5. Mmethod:
1. Put 4 gram of salt on a petri by spatula dish into electronic
balance
2. Put 20ml of water into the beaker
3. Put the 4 gram of salt in the beaker by metal spatula
4. Dissolve the salt into the water by starring rod
5. Put the 2 drops of blue food coloring to the beaker by using
dropper
6. Put 3 gram of salt on a petri by spatula dish into electronic
balance
7. Put 20ml of water into the beaker
8. Put the 3 gram of salt in the beaker by metal spatula
9. Dissolve the salt into the water by starring rod
10. Put the 2 drops of green food coloring to the beaker by using
dropper
11. Put 2 gram of salt on a petri by spatula dish into electronic
balance
12. Put 20ml of water into the beaker
13. Put the 2 gram of salt in the beaker by metal spatula
14. Dissolve the salt into the water by starring rod
15. Put the 2 drops of orange food coloring to the beaker by using
dropper

16. Put 1 gram of salt on a petri by spatula dish into electronic

balance
17. Put 20ml of water into the beaker
18. Put the 1 gram of salt in the beaker by metal spatula
19. Dissolve the salt into the water by starring rod
20. Put the 2 drops of yellow food coloring to the beaker by using
dropper
21. Put 20ml of water into the beaker
22. Put the 2 drops of red food coloring to the beaker by using
dropper
23. Put the colored water in this order, blue, red, green, orange,
yellow
into the 100ml measuring cylinder

5. Ddata collection and Aanalysis:

The previous method amount of salt was too much.
6. Ddiscussion: trend of the data. scientific concept that explain the trend.
gGraph 1 shows that as the height of a layer getting higher the density of it
decreases.
This trend can be explained using the scientific concept called density.
Density is defined as the total mass of an object divide by its total volume.
density and pressure
The object could be gas. More salt was added, the density of water layer
increased.
7.Evaluation:weakness of the method, source of errors.
The method of this experiment had a weakness.
Error is the state or condition of being wrong in conduct or judgment.
Weakness is the state or condition of lacking strength.
8. conclusion:(answer of your research question-> is your hypothesis is
supported or not, and suggestion for further research).
The salt added to water, to higher density be.

Further research it is suggested to use sugar to create.

Thus more layers of liquid can be created.
